i havent seen much in this thread about sugaring, what are peoples thoughts on it?

I love sugaring! I do it on my bikini line and it is always very clean, takes away all the hair and the pain is minimal. Sometimes I will get one or two ingrown hairs, but they are quite easy to remove.

The rest I shave or trim, but one day (when I'm not so poor ) I would like to get waxed at a salon.

Speaking of trimming... does anyone know of a good, affordable bikini trimmer? I have one, but it is one of those you have to leave plugged in until it is charged and now when it is fully-charged it only lasts for a few minutes. So I am hoping to get one that you use while it's plugged in instead of a chargeable one.

I used to wax but a friend of mine told me her doctor said she shouldn't wax 'down there' since it could effect her 'sexually'. is that ture??

I highly doubt that's true. Highly. I don't see how the presence of hair or the presence without hair would affect sexual intercourse. There's no way it could.

It's best not to wax the pubic area during a female's period because sensitivity to pain increases.

Waxing, if done right, shouldn't affect the area in any way after it's been done.

All this talk of "Waxing" is making me feel very uncomfortable.
I prefer to trim...other half shaves....the result being damn sexy i think.

well I don't know but I think maybe its harder for guys to "wax" down there, since the hair is thicker and harder. infact I think its very painful for a guy to wax anywhere.

I would never consider waxing, the whole concept is a bit too S&M for me. Not that putting a razor or sharp blade down there is any less traumatic...I trim and then shave. The results aren't as good as waxing, but I find them acceptable, and so does she Speaking of which, she waxes, but isn't quite Brazilian yet...

^ You're welcome! I buy it. I used to use a sugar wax called Wax-A-Way (I think it's Canadian). I recently bought the Parissa Chamomile Sugar Wax as I read a lot of good reviews on it (and it's the closest to the old one), but I haven't used it yet. I tried a normal salon wax of the same brand and it was wonderful though it had to be cleaned off with oil, which is why I went back to sugar wax.

I wouldn't mind making it by myself, but I wouldn't know where to buy rosewater and I have a feeling the making would be a lot messier than the waxing.

ugh. i got sugared once and it was the most painful horrifying thing ever. I much prefer waxing. The woman I go to is excellent.

As far as shaving goes...how do you guys do it? I tried it once and it took me 2 hours (I PROMISE you I'm not particularly hairy either). The female anatomy is just so...intricate...I don't know how anyone could regularly shave.

Yeah, I'd love to hear what sugar waxing is all about as well. From personal experience, I tried waxing myself, yes, keyword: myself, a few days ago and it hurt like a mother. I was stiff and tense the whole time (didn't even finish!) and my girl friends and I decided we'll all go get it done.

I'm no contortionist myself. I can reach or stretch tha far.

I just... do it. I didn't take 2 hours though. I took about 20 extra minutes.

I don't know if I could have a stranger looking down there. Of course it's their job and they've seen it ALL so it's not a big deal, but I don't like how prickly it feels as the hair starts to grow back.

I did the whole area too. Don't worry... I can't imagine why it would take so long unless your razor is the size of a safety pin.
