The How Do I Get This Look? Thread #2

Do you guys know a product that gets this smooth gold look? Every gold shadow I found is made up of small sparkles, and even when wet doesn't look this smooth and metallic.

Anything on the cheaper side (sold in drug stores) that has this effect?

These Maybelline gel cream shadows are new and they have a gold shade. I heard they're really good.

Also you could find an NYX display and look for the gold pearl powder and mix it with some water or sealant. Make Up Forever has a great sealant that'll last all day.

^That stuff is expensive but it'll last forever and so useful.

any ideas what lipstick they used at the recent Elie Saab HC show? I only can see that it's MAC, but have no idea what number it is.

oh_me I came here to ask the exact same question. Then I saw your photo and found the HQ one. The mac lipstick being used is Pink Plaid

Found a bigger pic of that look. I love it.

She has a champagne shimmer in her inner corners(Boots No7 Vanilla) and a pale silvery lavendar e/s(MAC Digit) then rich black liner on the outer 3rd of the eye and upper lashline (MAC smolder or Milani liquifeye black liner)

MAC Golden bronzer or Rimmel Sunlight matte bronzer along her cheekbones, temples and nose. Then a dusting of peachy blush(Nars Deep Throat)

The lips look really natural. I would try a skin colored balm maybe Clinique chubby stick lip balm in Whole Lotta Honey or Fuller Fig. It depends on your skintone.:D

Love that! It's so fresh yet sultry.

Eye: Do a wash of a vanilla nude shade all over, then contour the crease with a medium brown shade. Line the upper lashline with a black gel liner then smudge with black shadow over top. Use a small brush. Line the water line with a nude eyeliner. Lightly smudge a thin line of light brown shadow along the lower lashline. Mascara only on the top lashes.

Face: I cant really see her cheeks but from what I can see it looks like a non shimmery peach blush, possibly a cream since it's so sheer. Stila Convertible color is good for this. Ulta has good cream blushes too. It's very light.

Lips: the color looks like it was dabbed mostly in the center part of her lips. You can achieve this look my doing a kiss motion with your lips then pressing the color just in the inner areas and leaving the outer edges alone. It could just be a stain since it's not shimmery or shiny or matte for that matter. Benetint would work if used sparingly, Sephora also sells some good lip and cheek stain. Then cover it with some lipbalm

Ripe Cherry, the middle shade is one I have I use it all the time.

Josie Maran has some great stuff too. Soft berry rose would work.

Beau Nelson did her makeup. On his Twitter he said it was for Dior so I'm assuming he used Dior products. I asked him on Twitter so hopefully I'll get a reply.:D

^ MAC's Orb Eyeshadow could give you a similar look, possibly NARS Laguna Bronzer on the cheeks?

not sure if this counts as a look, but this is the coolest nail-polish look and i'd love to be able to recreate it! anyone have an idea on how to go about that?

^ Google or search on youtube for 'splatter manicure tutorial' - there are quite a few versions out there so you should be able to find something that suits. either that or a marble manicure tutorial. Good luck! :flower:

Pretty sure it's what people call "Marbling." This is by far the best version I've seen :D
