The How Do I Get This Look? Thread

This is kinda silly but I'm new to anything apart from eyeliner and bronzer!!
I wonder if anyone can just tell me if the green around Rachel's eyes is a cream eyeshadow, a normal eyeshadow or eyeliner? And if it's eyeshadow how is it applied so thin and even?
Also do you think the pink on her cheeks is a cream tint or a powder blush (if that's how u say it) Thanks a million :flower:

Does anyone know what products/methods to use etc, to get a dewy natural look like Ashley Olsen often has. Sorry if this has alraedy been posted but I didn't have the time to look through and see every page. Thanks

Try Benefit's High Beam on the cheeks to get that shiny glow :flower:

Please please please please please can somebody help me with my prom makeup? I posted the looks above! I just need a break down and product recommendations.. Thank you!

I would help but there are recurrent looks that usually have been explained in previous treads and sometimes it isn´t so much about products but more about apllication techniques.

For a prom makeup those looks are a bit boring in my opinion and since you are blond i think that they wouldn´t really suit you.´
If you want, i can give you some tips on a look for you.

You could send me a pm with a good pic of you and i could tell you a look that could suit you a bit more than those. :flower:

I looooove High beam... it really accentuates your cheekbones if you put it in the right place.. It's also good to put just under your eyebrows to open up your eyes.

oh i love this! i use moon beam, which doesn't have metallic bits of glitter in it, just a gleam..

okay, my question: i want:
a) dark smoky eyes

i'm considering:
- black pencil eyeliner with smudger
- mascara
- MAC Black Tied e/s, OR Stila smudge pot in black
can you rec one, or any other better product?

so how do i do this?
i'm thinking.. mascara, pencil liner, and just blend the shadow around my upper lashline, and at the outer edges of the lower lashline..

are there any other tricks to make this work?

i have single layer puffy asian eyelids btw

and also, i'd like to try
b) glossy dark eyes

i'm thinking.. mascara, foundation base, MAC Paint in Graphito blended up to the brow, then vaseline as gloss?

hellooholly if you do a search on smokey eyes, you should finde several explanations on how to achieve it :flower:

Actually, for eyeshadow, you may want to try a matte texture taupe shade.

Trace the eye with a very black eyeliner all the way around, and smudge the line. The key here is the inner corner, you have to draw a triangle all the way to the side of your nose bridge, nothing special, just a matter of technique. Hope that helped some.
