The How Do I Get This Look? Thread

I want to try a brightly colored eye brow for an event next week. I haven't decided on the color but it will most likely be a hot pink or a vivid blue. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, do you think a powder or cream color works best? I'm wondering if pasting them down with something white and then going over that with the color might work...

any ideas would be helpful!
I've never tried this myself but I think you would get the best result if you first tried to lighten them if you have dark brows with a light color first and then use a cream color and seal it with a powder in the same color just to make it stick

thank you! i'm going to raid sephora and see if i can find a good clear wax to use.

layering the colors is a good suggestion too loonaka, thanks for responding. i'll either look really awesome or really foolish... but i guess that's the fun of make up :)

Does anyone know how to achieve this lip color?

Honestly, that might just be her natural lip color with clear lipbalm over it - it doesn't look like gloss or lipstick.

^ darn I thought so. What about this? It looks like some sort of stain.
Can anyone recommend specific products/techniques?

I insist that most likely it's her lips' natural pigmentation, but in the last set of pics she might have dabbed a touch of color to the center of her lips. Lots of brands have stains - I'm a fan of Stila Cherry Crush. With most stains, you apply a thin, precise layer, and wait for it to dry before applying gloss/balm. But anything can work as a stain - lipstick, gloss, lipliner, tinted lipbalm, cream blush, and even powder blush mixed with a little clear balm. The trick is to apply a thick layer and then blot it until it "blends" with your lip texture. Repeat two or three times for extra lasting power. Concentrate the most color in the center of your bottom lip, because that's where it wears off the fastest.

Color brow follow up

In case anyone is interested, I tested out my bright eyebrow experiment. I found the best method was using a clear brow wax (MAC has a decent one), then a layer of concealer (preferably one or two shades lighter than your skin tone) then the color. Powder color worked best. The effect was really cool but I think best used on someone with light hair. I have dark hair so the only colors that looked good were very bright blues. Pink was cool but gave me a tired, kind of rabbit-y look.

Use a light shimmery eyeshadow all over the eye a and a very light/white one close to the eyebrow and in the corner of the eyes.
Looks like they have used a pencil black/gray/silvery eyeliner to line up the eye, and a black liquid liner very close around the eye, also use it to make the "tail"
Top the look off with mascara you like that works for you^^

people I need some advise pleaseee
are there any make-up tricks that make your eyes bigger? I'm dreaming about Masha Tyelna eyes haha jk

^Well, I think Masha is kind of in a league of her own. But you could try:
- white/flesh-toned eyeliner on inner rims.
- majorly curled eyelashes, and lengthening (but not thickening) mascara.
- matte, flesh-toned eyeshadow up to the lid, shimmery shadow in the inner corners and browbone, and slightly darker shadow in the crease.
- tightlined (barely visible) eyeliner in the upper lid, and on the bottom where your eyelashes start.
- Strange advice, but don't completely conceal your undereye circles, as this closes up the eye. Work with the shadows around your eyes.
- For drastic measures, those contact lenses that make your pupils seem larger, like a child's. These are popular in East Asia.
- And for inspiration, look at 1960's mod-inspired eye makeup, when the trend was looking wide-eyed.

OMG thanks! so many tips! :)
I was looking at my old pics and noticed how huge my eyes used to be, I suppose that when you grow up/mature your facial proportions change too (the head gets bigger and the eyes remain the same) and now I'm obsessed in getting the eyes I used to have haha :)
I'm definitely going to try your tips. I also will get inspiration from Twiggy, her eyes are sooo big! Too bad her lashes are hard to achieve!

My eyebrowns are to dark and shinie, how can i turn them mate without painting?

TIA

Ok this is the first time I have ever clicked into the makeup section of tFS, mainly because I'm a guy.
Now BEFORE you get the wrong idea I have a problem.

I am naturally tanned, not too dark just light brown I guess. But recently the horribly sunny weather has burnt me and over-tanned me. Im more dark brown now, and I dont like it. How do u make ureself pale? Are there some types of food that make u whiter? I wanna avoid girly creams if I can but if I have to........
