The How Do I Get This Look? Thread

Her makeup is very extreme, I'm not sure it would look good in real life, unless you wear a very Gothic outfit/hair.
-Bleached white eyebrows
-Matte Black, dark brown or gray eyeshadow right under the browbone, extended to a cat-eye v-shape down to her lids.
- Medium shimmery taupe eyeshadow over lid.
- Pink or silver cream eyeshadow/liner over lid and inner eye corner
- Black liquid or gel liner with a flick
- Black mascara
- For the lips, something dark and matte, like MAC Nighmoth lipliner
- For skin, pale medium-full coverage foundation in the palest color, (down to your neck and any bare skin if you're not that pale naturally)
- T LeClerc Powder in Nacre or Orchidee for a full-on porcelain look.

Thanks so much! I'm a dj and wear very extreme looks all the time, the only thing that scares me is the bleached out eyebrows. Any tips on how to create a good V eyeshadow shape? My eyes always seem to look wrong when I do it...

If your eyebrows are fairly light-colored or sparse, you could also try minimizing them with foundation and powder. As for the V shape, hard to explain. Try following the natural contour of your eyes for the most part, making it more geometrical as you go along. Use cut-out bits of post-its (less rough on the skin than tape) to get a really sharp line.

Since this is a special event and you're after an intricate look, why not schedule a makeup-artist appointment at a counter a couple of hours beforehand? MAC and Illamasque at Selfridges are good for these kinds of looks. Bring the mag picture for reference. You usually don't pay for the makeup application, but you may be obligated to purchase a couple of products.

I did think of going to illamasque, the only problem was that their foundation is absolutely terrible, beyond bad! I shall take your advice though, I want to look special for my big night!

i would say draw quite a thick line of liquid concealer on the top lid. thin at the inner corner of ur eye and thicker towards the end of your eye. for the bottom of ur eye lashes, use a soft brown eye shadow. best way that works for me is a cotton tip dipped in a tiny bit of water n then rubbing it in the eyeshadow. it goes on easier without flaking off. for the cheeks, a soft rosy pink and the lips, outline them with a red liner first then a red lipstick otherwise the red lipstick mite bleed. hope that helps abit. never been to this site before :)

What about this one? I love the eye makeup especially. :)

I'd love to know how she did her eyebrows and what eyeshadow she's wearing :ninja: Not too crazy about the lips, though.

for the Megan Fox look I would say you need to have well defined eyebrows, the perfect eyebrows are dictated by the shape of your eyes, once they are shaped, you keep them in place with an eyebrow gel, a clear mascara or vaseline. For her eyes I would say any nude eyeshadow that has a hint of shimmer, a close match i think would be MAC's naked lunch, hope this helped

I love her makeup here... and at cannes... any info? :flower:

The thing with Megan Fox's look is, you really have to have her features to be able to pull them off properly... Notably her deep eye sockets, her really light blue eyes and the shape of her eye lids. Anyways if you do have similar features, you can pull off her look with:
-Fake eyelashes that are heavily emphasized and thicker at the respective edges
-a lot of dark brown/black mascara on the bottom lashes to balance out
-dashes of light, highlighting eyeshadow at the corners of the eyes (near the nose)
-a nude, natural yet highlighting shade applied right above the eyelids, but under the opening of the second eyelids (making her eyes stand out more)
-a darker matte eyeshadow shade, using a huge blending brush, from the exiting corner of her eyebrows to the exiting corner of the eyes

hope this helped/made sense
