The How Do I Get This Look? Thread

^
Himalaya Herbals has a whitening cream, but if you don't want to use any creams, I know that lemon juice lightens skin, but it dries skin a lot
Personally I envy you, cause my skin is so pale and I'd love to have darker skin! ^_^

Ok this is the first time I have ever clicked into the makeup section of tFS, mainly because I'm a guy.
Now BEFORE you get the wrong idea I have a problem.

I am naturally tanned, not too dark just light brown I guess. But recently the horribly sunny weather has burnt me and over-tanned me. Im more dark brown now, and I dont like it. How do u make ureself pale? Are there some types of food that make u whiter? I wanna avoid girly creams if I can but if I have to........

If your skin is healthy and not burned, you can allways exfoliate (not more than twice a week) to hurry up the skin renovation process.
Skin whitening creams are not good for the skin so you should avoid them and deal with the fact that now you are tanned.

You can also use a bit of face powder as it removes the shine and make the skin appear less tanned because matte skin doesn´t enhance the tan.

Use sunscreen everyday even if it´s just moisturizer with an spf of at least 15 to prevent further tanning.

Thank u :flower:
I already powder them, i just wish that's something more i could do!!!

You can allways snip and cut the lenght of the eyebrow hair (if the hair is really long), because shorter hairs don´t look as shine because they don´t reflect the light that much.

PS- tambem sou de Lisboa :flower:

^Well, I think Masha is kind of in a league of her own. But you could try:
- white/flesh-toned eyeliner on inner rims.
- majorly curled eyelashes, and lengthening (but not thickening) mascara.
- matte, flesh-toned eyeshadow up to the lid, shimmery shadow in the inner corners and browbone, and slightly darker shadow in the crease.
- tightlined (barely visible) eyeliner in the upper lid, and on the bottom where your eyelashes start.
- Strange advice, but don't completely conceal your undereye circles, as this closes up the eye. Work with the shadows around your eyes.
- For drastic measures, those contact lenses that make your pupils seem larger, like a child's. These are popular in East Asia.
- And for inspiration, look at 1960's mod-inspired eye makeup, when the trend was looking wide-eyed.

They make contact lenses to give you the illusion of larger pupils? No way! Can you find a link for me, I'd love to see!^_^:flower:

There is also an eye tape that tapes your eyelid close to your browbone that makes your eyes look bigger, but I don't know how to search for that online.

are there any make-up tricks that make your eyes bigger? I'm dreaming about Masha Tyelna eyes haha jk
A line of black eyeliner on the upper lid and light eyeshadow at the lower...makes my eyes bigger at least..

I think the problem is the color, they're too dark, the lengh it's ok, powder is the solution or painting which i'm not in the mood!!!

A ver pelo Nick a Lux tb deve ser de Lisboa... Lisbon Power!!!:flower:

^Her makeup isn't easy to see, as the picture is still quite small when you click on it. It looks like smoky eyes/bronzer/nude lips. Is that Olivia Palermo? If you visit her thread, some people might be familiar with what products she uses.

i know this may not be the exact right thread, but i thought this was the most appropriate

so ive got prom coming up and i really want an amazing makeup look, something fairly dramaticc..
has anyone got any idea or photos of anything they think would look good?

^It depends on your coloring, and what you feel comfortable with, like which colors you like. I would take a look at the "Inspiring Makeup Art" thread, lots of dramatic looks there.

well im very pale, i have green eyes and white/ash blonde hair, its just the eyes i need help with really as i like to wear a pale/nude lip.

Please please help! I'm opening a new club night in Soho and I really want to pull off the make up look that Beth Ditto has on the front of Love magazine for the night.

See here - http://www.thelovemagazine.co.uk/

I can't really tell what colors or how I'd do it. Help me! I want that white face too!

Her makeup is very extreme, I'm not sure it would look good in real life, unless you wear a very Gothic outfit/hair.
-Bleached white eyebrows
-Matte Black, dark brown or gray eyeshadow right under the browbone, extended to a cat-eye v-shape down to her lids.
- Medium shimmery taupe eyeshadow over lid.
- Pink or silver cream eyeshadow/liner over lid and inner eye corner
- Black liquid or gel liner with a flick
- Black mascara
- For the lips, something dark and matte, like MAC Nighmoth lipliner
- For skin, pale medium-full coverage foundation in the palest color, (down to your neck and any bare skin if you're not that pale naturally)
- T LeClerc Powder in Nacre or Orchidee for a full-on porcelain look.
