yeah great room for your sister oiltrash. love the kitschy touch with the miss piggy. And the shelving is particularly lovely. same with the textiles.

love the room above with the green painted 'headboard'. I love doing that.

Oiltrash, Love the red! Cute room.

I just bought a new house so I thought I share my master. It is one of the favourite rooms in the house.

I would like to paint. Perhaps a silver?

Very well decorated. I love the pillow by the window and the solar ray mirrors.

Hello oiltrash! I really like how you designed your sister's room
What is the white wall? Is it a painting? I like the low relief design! :p It's kind of like branches

RetroGirl, I love your room! Your window seat is very similar to mine, but I have not done anything with it yet. I like what you did. Everyone keeps telling me that I need to get a custom made cushion for it, but I can think of other things I would rather spend my money on (and I am not talented enough to make my own!).

Hi Cosmogirl, I planned on making a cushion for the window seat eventually also, but it looks ok for now without it ;) Maybe someday I will finish it.

Thanks

^ Well, it looks great as it is right now! :flower: I have a real pillow obsession, so I think I am going to decorate mine with pillows for now. If the seat hurts my butt, I can sit on a pillow.

Thanks for your comments .. the bed had a boring beige leather head bored … I had bought I ready made curtain to hang over the window, but that didn’t work out.. I placed it over the head board for fun …and vous la!!!

Thank you for your comment … I like your room …very elegant …the mirrors very emblematic ….
You mentioned that you wanted to paint the room …
I suggest that you paint some walls and leave the rest as it is … the color you have is a nice background for your furnisher.

I assume you would chose a shiny silver to paint the wall (from the accessories you have) .... I recommend a more oxidized silver. It will create a nice contrast between the sharpness and freshness of the what you already have in the room and the rusticness of the oxidized silver.

If you want to go avant guard, you can hang metal plates on the wall and hang the mirrors over them.
I personally … think a deeper color would look nice on the wall … eggplant.. burgundy also lavender… even a darker shade of the existing wall color.

If I would do it .. I wont apply the paint on the wall .. instead I will have it on large canvas panels .. I like layering the walls .. it gives interiors stability and lux.
You can paint the panels and ..hang the mirrors over them … … you can even change the colors every time you get bored without making big mess … you can do it in your garage..
you don’t even need paint!!! You can upholster the panels with your favorite fabric!!
I toke the liberty to redecorate your room for you … I know I need to work on my photo shop skills.

lots of interesting ideas oiltrash..
i'm intrigued by your painted canvas suggestion..
could you explain that a little more?

do you mean like canvas that you would do oil paintings on?
i'm assuming that would also add a bit of texture to the wall which could be cool..

i love the idea of sort of "upholstering" walls with fabric..
that's another great way to add some texture to a room..

retrogurl what color do you currently have on the walls?
i love the high (vaulted?) ceilings in the bedroom..
and i like what you've done with the space thus far :flower:

^The same frame you buy in art supply shops … you can even do it your self if you couldn’t find the required size … its easy ,but I never got to do one my self … I like it because of its light weight .. but you can have wooden panels on the wall too … the canvas also makes a good base for upholstery …just stretch your fabric on it and staple it from the back .. you might need to do a bet of seam work .. if you have a big canvas … or simply look for a fabric with width …^

that's a really interesting idea..
i'll keep that in mind next time i need to do some redecorating.. :shifty:

I really like your work an your ideas oiltrash. Your room it's much more my style but i like your sister room too, I'll never recomended red for a room because it's a exciting color but the look really works!
I bet you're an interior designer i'm i right?

I think it's a great idea too

Not sure if I was clear about my earlier post...
I was asking about this picture here. It's the first one, a white textured wall

Is that painted as well?
Or you bought it...
Sorry I wrote the answer some time ago , but forgot to post it DAA!!!
The board is some sort of acrylic panel.. it’s made of the same material used in kitchen and lab counter tops, but a deferent manufacturing technique .. (in other words I don’t know what its called)
… it has an intrusting relief …the one you see are branches …it comes in stone ..waves designs …its a bet pricy ..so I bought one panel ..it comes in 97cm x 240 cm … I split it into half horizontally …and split the other half vertically and joined the pieces together … I nailed them to a 5 x 5cm wood frame … witch made it appear like art work that I just went and bought …

Well thank you … I am glad you like my stuff …
my sister’s room .. is painted with a shade of fuchsia …maybe it looks red in the pix
Second I am not an interior decorator … I toke 2 classes in community collage !!

I bought a new house in my native country, and since i'm not going to live there at the moment i have all the time in the world to decorate it.

At the moment I'm thinking about colors, I like that "Tuscany" blue( don't know how to explain it better) and Yellow, but I have no idea how I'm going to coordinate those colors in a room? Any ideas would be welcomed...:flower:

Les Sucettes you're not giving much to go on :p

What was your thought...do you want a Tuscany blue and yellow that is really strong and bold or more subtle ?
Do you want the interior to reflect traditional Italian style ? (the classical blue and yellow pottery), luxury? shabby chic? country? Urban ? Hippie/Bohemia ? or were your thoughts of taking it in a more minimalistic direction ? (Here I'm thinking white walls, few but great designer pieces, a Miro reproduction on the wall..)

Do you want it to dominate or as a discrete color theme running through the house ?

I think if you explained the direction of your taste.. it would probably be easier for others to invision something.. Unless you're like me.. having a hard time picking just one style.. :D

I must say I envy you a bit.. sounds wonderful that you can decorate your extra house at a leisurely pace.. making sure everything comes together perfectly
