Les Sucettes you're not giving much to go on :p

What was your thought...do you want a Tuscany blue and yellow that is really strong and bold or more subtle ?
Do you want the interior to reflect traditional Italian style ? (the classical blue and yellow pottery), luxury? shabby chic? country? Urban ? Hippie/Bohemia ? or were your thoughts of taking it in a more minimalistic direction ? (Here I'm thinking white walls, few but great designer pieces, a Miro reproduction on the wall..)

Do you want it to dominate or as a discrete color theme running through the house ?

I think if you explained the direction of your taste.. it would probably be easier for others to invision something.. Unless you're like me.. having a hard time picking just one style.. :D

I must say I envy you a bit.. sounds wonderful that you can decorate your extra house at a leisurely pace.. making sure everything comes together perfectly

Oh thank you.

I really do not know, everything at the moment in my mind is just blank.

I just know I want this yellows and blues in bold colors.

Half the house has the original XIX stone structure inside and original windows because it's in a world heritage city and those things can't be changed, so I want to take the best profit from it.

np :flower:

Given that the house is so old.. would this serve as inspiration ?
I stayed there.. and it is amazing.. completely rustic in the non touristy-rustic way..
I love raw walls.. with the history they tell.. the earth colors.. it makes a home a cosy little hide-away.. you could add throws in yellow and blue, cabinets/shelves in the kitchen in Tuscany blue.. tiles in the bathroom.. a big cluster of Tuscany blue glass vases ? Sheer warm yellow (with a bit of ocher in the yellow) curtains, rugs..

Or maybe this would inspire:

wow cool. thanks hanne for sharing.
it's absolutely beautiful!

ah hanne that is a gorgeous hotel! Me and my boyfriend would love to go to italy but i haven't found anywhere that grabbed me yet! I can't wait to show him this!

Sorry I wrote the answer some time ago , but forgot to post it DAA!!!
The board is some sort of acrylic panel.. it’s made of the same material used in kitchen and lab counter tops, but a deferent manufacturing technique .. (in other words I don’t know what its called)
… it has an intrusting relief …the one you see are branches …it comes in stone ..waves designs …its a bet pricy ..so I bought one panel ..it comes in 97cm x 240 cm … I split it into half horizontally …and split the other half vertically and joined the pieces together … I nailed them to a 5 x 5cm wood frame … witch made it appear like art work that I just went and bought …
Oiltrash

I think the material you mean is Corean or silstone, but it must be corean, more spencive but better resistence and you can't see the joins.

Thanks for answering my question, oiltrash
and that bit of info too, Nyni ^_^

A way one could make that is maybe with acrylic medium or molding paste
It's used by painters

Hello oiltrash! I really like how you designed your sister's room
What is the white wall? Is it a painting? I like the low relief design! :p It's kind of like branches

i have these white panels in my living room too, maybe i'll post them later^_^

A truly inspirational site that I like to visit is the saucydwellings community on livejournal.com.

At the moment i am in the midst of updating some of my furniture as most of my furniture consists of hand me downs from my parents and my bf's parent and things that i have found.

First on my list is a couch. I've found a large blue/grey couch which i am considering complementing with a leopard print foot stool. I'm not too sure if the leopard print foot stool is too much as there is a fine line between rockstar glam and tacky.

I think a stool is fine.. it's a detail.. not a huge obnoxious bedcover.. or a huge sofa.. a dominating piece in the room.

I wish i knew where i can get myself that dumpling basket table.

I just found this thread and loved all the pics going through it! I'll be moving out in may but I've started looking early so I can look everywhere before making my final decision. Can you guy recommend some sites? I've been to the ususal pottery barn and crate and barrel suspects, some more modern sites like dwr, moss, modern poverty, and some individual designers sites like bebitalia.

I love the sleek modern look but too much of it looks cold and uninviting to me so I want to mix moderm with classic pieces for a more cozy comfy look.

are you moving into your own apartment or a dorm or ?

Either way, I often like to read different blogs (apartment therapy or design sponge) since they often have links to smaller designers doing interesting things that otherwise you wouldn't hear about

I actually applied to colleges in the area so I wouldnt have to live in a dorm since then I wouldnt be able to take my cats! so I'm moving into an apt but w/o my last remaining roommate.

Thanks a lot for the blog suggestion, I didnt think of it but it's a good idea.

There are leopard print fabrics in neutral colors that I really like ... like taupe on ivory? That really takes it back a step & it's fine for a large piece of furniture ...

This is where my sofa is from--everyone who sits on it says how comfortable it is. They also do COM now, which they didn't when I got it: www.quatrine.com

GG i don't know if that site is reliable but one that i know that does the same thing, Europe By Net, is. It was featured in this months UK Glamour. It appears they ship to the US http://www.europebynet.com/

Thanks so much! They actually have one of the things I want at way less than retail. I looked it up and theres an article that mentions both sites which makes me think intirum may be reliable too but I don't even know that theres anything they have that europebynet doesn't. The designers I emailed said that intrium isnt legit but apparently a lot of them cover up that they deal with discount retailers, I want to see what they say about the other site. Thank again - this will save me a ton of money!!
