M.A.C. Russian Red or Ruby Woo?

I'm looking for a matte, true red lip color. I absolutely do not want anything that looks orange or pink, which tons of reds seem to do on me, unfortunately. So I was wondering, would either Russian Red or Ruby Woo be good for this? I've looked at the color swatches on the website, but I can't decide. There isn't a mac counter where I live, so most likely I'll be ordering.

I remember looking at Russian Red and I'd say that it looked very true redish, don't know about the other one.
How about Viva Glam lipstick the first one ? The shade describtion : Intense brownish blue-red (Matte)

How so Golden..what products did you buy and how did they let you down ?

^ I used MAC sheer powder, concealer, blush. The eye make up is quiet nice
but overall I think other brands I've used has much better quality

I've never heard anything about MAC concealer..good or bad..so I've never used it..
I dislike MAC's blushes..I don't think they make god blush colours
I don't use their sheer powder..but I live for their Blot Powder..which is excellent.

They told me today that the next special collection that comes out will be all reds ... so the choice is about to expand ...

Have a question for my fellow MAC girls ... so I think we all know that MAC does not make the best mascaras, one of their weak areas. But I like to buy from MAC because of their recycling program

I've tried Pro Lash, X, and currently Zoom Lash, which I think is the best of the bunch ... but I'm wondering ... do they make anything better??

PS Other MAC products I'm not enthused about include the foundation and concealer. Not only did they not match me, they didn't match each other (same color code). But I like the lipstick a lot, eyeshadow, blush, nail polish, lip gloss, lip pencil, etc. Great color selection of lipstick and shadow, sometimes I wish for more of a selection of blush colors, other times they have exactly what I want. But I think part of this is the stores don't usually carry/have everything in stock.

Hey.. I dunno if anyone posted this yet... I bought some stuff at the mac counter today... did you know that if you save empty MAC containers.. if you bring them back to the store... if you have like 5 or 6 I think she said, You'll get a product for free... crazaaay. All of the empty containers that I just throw out.. Hmph!


Edit: Just noticed that this has been discussed... but crap! It's still a surprise to me!

^ its a surprise to me aslo luna! thanks for the info! I love mac make up, its reasonably priced and last for ages. Their concealer is excellent. I found get much better coverage than with the YSL touche eclat and it lasts a lot longer. Their eyeshadows are to die for aswell. I got a special edition eyeshadow set for xmas which had about 6 different shades of purpley colours, love them!

I got my make up done for my leavers ball at school done at the mac counter, really good value. £20, but then you also get £20 worth of products. So free effectively!

I think I might go back and buy a lipstick that I saw from the viva glam stuff... someone stop meeee!

Yep, 6 plastic containers get you a free lipstick. Certain things (like the plastic cap to nail polish or a pencil) don't count. I get most of my lipsticks free now ... just about to go get one tomorrow. The prices are much lower than the lines that give you GWP, and this way you get what you really want. I hope they haven't discontinued the shade I want to get

The touche eclat isn't supposed to be covering, it's more of a light reflector..so if you've used it as a concealer I can understand why you'd find MAC's better.

I wonder if that rule applies outside the States ??
