The Mascara Thread

Thanks, sofialuv! :flower:
I want long lashes, without clumping or smudging, and most importantly, one that comes with a good, light brush, like this:

Also what I love about Spectacular is that it holds a curl like no one's business.

You can order Helena Rubenstein over amazon.com go to the new section called beauty beta or something like that ..they have it ..I checked

^But it will cost a fortune. :( I payed US$33 but it was on sale - usually it costs up to US$40. If I order from Amazon I'll probably have to pay US$60, which is too much considering I can buy any Lancôme or Dior mascara for much less than that.

It costs 30 US Dollars on Amazon..ofcourse theres postage and tax ? to be paid as well.. I believe Helena Rubenstein is cheaper in Europe..but as low as the dollar is these days its probably just as cheap in the US

But I live in Brazil. Import taxes in my country are too expensive. I'll figure something out. Thanks for the help, Hanne. :flower:

oh dear
good luck with that
the brush sort of reminds me of Estee Lauder
which i liked a lot...
but i've switched to a cheap brand: Cover Girl Fantastic Lash -
and i'm totally thrilled.

good luck

Cover girl fantastic lash is quite similar, and for the price, it's unbeatable, believe me. L'Oreal Voluminous is not far behind either, it's the same as fantastic lash, but it doesn't crease.

I'll try Voluminous then, since I can't find Cover Girl here. Thanks for the tips, gruveechik and Kimkhuu. :flower:

Olá menina!!!

I would recommend L´Oreal Panoramic Curl, really lenghtens and i really like the brush! It doesn´t gives the spider lash look and lasts all day!
I really don´t buy those comercial images, but this one really gives panoramic lashes. They really get to expand from the beggining to the end of the lash line.

I've found that any type of mascara with any lengthening and separating gives me the spider lashes look, unless I take a q-tip with a little eye make up remover and swipe it across the base of my lashes and comb through with an eyelash comb. I use a hydrating make up remover and once everything dries...my lashes feel really soft and it's as if I'm not wearing mascara at all to the touch!

So I tried Lancome - Hypnose this week. It's quiet good, I got those
long & seperated eyelashes and I could have many coats without it getting messy. It doesn't smell funny and has a good brush.

It gets 4,4 ( out of 5 ) of me.

Ooh, that sounds good - I never really thought of Lancome for mascara

^ what eye makeup remover do you use?

I use a brand called flirt that I got at Kohls. It's pretty cheap...only $10 for a bottle that will last a while (unless you spill it  ). The only problem I've found is that it can be irritating to my eyes if I use a cotton ball to rub it off, but if I just use a tiny amount on a q-tip for this purpose, it works wonderfully well. YOu can probably use other types of liquid eye make up remover, but I wouldn't try lotion for this.

I just dip the qtip into the remover and run it across the bottom and top of my eyelashes at the base, and then use an eyelash brush.

...I only use this for mascara with a lot of lengthening/thickening quality, for a more natural lash, I haven't found this necessary.

I've been using Lancome Hypnose and have been pretty happy with it, but this morning I just tried Dior Maximeyes and I think it's going to be my new favorite. It's super-duper volumizing mascara, separates incredibly and doesn't clump at all. Perfect if you have sparse lashes like I do.

I want to buy a mascara but which? The YSL Faux Cils supposedly lasts for a month, if that. Dior's packaging looks bad. I might try Hypnose. Any other suggestions? I'm looking for a mascara that does it all

Can all off you here please, please pretty please promise me that you will never waste your valuble 14.95 of Rimmel Extreme Definition.....I thought the idea of a comb brush might be cool, I'd never heard of a mascara like that before. It. was.the.worse.mascara.EV-ER!!!!!! Truly horrible!

I haven't tried hypnose but i did use flextensils before and it was really really good. I really want to try hypnose now though as alot of people on here are saying its so good!

I use Faux Cils and I love it. It's lasted 6 months for me, and I use it everyday. I'm getting near the end, though, so I need to buy a new one, but it lasts forever...I heard that some people have had issues with time, but I haven't.
