The Mascara Thread

For any type of eye make up: shadows, paints or mascaras, it allways dissoves better with a solution that is based on oil on water, like lancome bi facil or sephora´s own brand eye make up remover (that is much cheaper and better in my opinion  ).

With those kind of solutions, you won´t need to rub off the eyes, wich is not a good thing to do! :P Just use a cotton pad with the remover and press it against the eye. Then, after a few seconds, gently press downward the growing of the lashes to remove the mascara. Then do it again if there is still mascara to be removed. After, clean under the eyes.

If you use a facewash, do it after you have removed all of the eye makeup to remove the rest of the eye makeup that sometimes still stays.

I just found the best mascara I've ever encountered! Its by Kiss Me (a Japanese brand) and supposedly uses a special technology that wraps "tubes" around your lashes. It does not smudge, clump, or flake! Incredible :D

Best mascara for eyes

I recently has lasic surgury on both eyes and am starting to wear eye makeup after several years of wearing none. I am looking for some mascara that will not clump, flake and will wash off with regular cleanser. I use to use Clinique supermascara but I dont think they carry it anymore...Any info would be greatly appreciated.....:woot:

I'm so confused...I got Lancome Amplicils and it just melts and smears all over the place. A single tear and I have a black river down my cheek... :o
I usually like Lancome but this was so strange...even the one-dollar cheapo mascara performed much much better in every way.

Has anyone else had this experience?? Now I'm scared to try the other Lancome mascaras...

Hi, Melisande, I used to wear Lancome mascara, several different formulations over several years, never had this problem ... I would take it back & try something else :flower:

I bought the Lancome Definicils because I'd read so many good reviews about it, how it doesn't flake, looks natural, etc. At first, it worked okay for me. By the end of the day, there was a smattering of flakes around my eye, but that was usually very late in the day. Now, however, it clumps on me too.

Sigh. I think I'll try Diorshow next.

I've bought Rimmel's mascara Volume with a comb. It's something!!! First I ended with clumps on my lashes but after trying several times It goes much better, who ever bought this mascara, may you give me any tips for applying? Would be much appreciated

From my experience, Lancome alwayes makes the best mascaras. One day, I was at a MAC store and the manager was talking with a client (who was probably a friend) and I overheard him recommending a Lancome mascara!

I'm using Shu Uemura Basic Mascara ATM, it doesn't clump or stick lashes together, but it only gives you a natural finish. it lengthens, holds a curl but you only get a little extra volume. it's great for a natural finish

Yeah they are, Lancome's Hypnose is working pretty well for me.

Christian Dior's "DiorShow Mascara" in Black is the best for volume and length! Huge brush

I usually prefer YSL Faux Cils mascara - it gives an amazing volume and length to my eyelashes. I'm starting to like Lancome Hypnose, it gives more natural look to lashes and has a nice creamy texture - very easy to apply! Must be good for sensitive eyes too.

Yeah i just bought YSL Faux Cils again! its just amazing! i'm probably going to try maximeyes next from Dior, Has anyone tried it??

^ I did. Didn't work well for me. The brush is very nice but the mascara itself made my lashes clump.

^Me too! They do make my lashes look very thick and long....but the consistency is very flaky and seems to clump up my lashes.

I had Maximeyes. It does a nice job after one month... before it's a little too liquid and sticks lashes together (though not as bad as other mascaras). after one month it's dry enough to give lashes a lot of volume.
