The Mascara Thread

i recently got clinique's high impact mascara because my friend swears by it. it's pretty good, but i think there are better mascaras out there. i'm still looking for the right one!

^ i have that i think. i also have the one that has two of them on one stick... does that make sense?

:)

i swear by dior diorshow when i'm going out, any estee lauder mascaras and some japanese mascaras.

oh and my maxfactor clear mascara.

I've recently bought Mac Lash Mascara, but it's not very good for my lashes at all. It makes me look like a 20s starlet, kinda spider lashes.
I have to say that Longitude by l'Oreal is pretty good for people with naturally long lashes.

I used to buy YSL faux cils a year ago, although it gave a nice curl and lots of volume I got annoyed at the brush because it made it clump.

Now I'm going to buy it again and try applying it with another brush. I'll get back after the experiment :smartass:

I've got the same problem as you! even though it's one of my absolute fav, but i'm thinking of trying out diorshow :D Golden_butterfly have you tried it before?

Yes I did and it was terrible on me. I know it works for most people but didn't for me. It clumped too much and at the end it looked like I had three thick eyelashes on each eye. I only applied 2 coats only.

I guess you have to try it out urself to see if it works for you :flower:
My eyelashes are fairly long but needs volume and a little bit of curl to show.

Have you tried L´Oreal Panoramic Curl? I find it rather good. It separates the lashes and lenghtens and curl them at the same time. :)

Another one wich i love is Maybelline Volum´Express. I love that one!!! But the normal version is so much better than the Waterproof formula. ;)
Gives HUGE lashes, just be careful and remove the excess mascara from the wand with a kleenex or by pressing the wand against the tube.

I'm so confused...I got Lancome Amplicils and it just melts and smears all over the place. A single tear and I have a black river down my cheek... :o
I usually like Lancome but this was so strange...even the one-dollar cheapo mascara performed much much better in every way.

Has anyone else had this experience?? Now I'm scared to try the other Lancome mascaras...

totally! i was a Lancome gal (lived on Definicils) - tried Amplicils and had the same exp. Wasn't impressed w/ the other mascaras as well. Tried drugstore brands and found my HG: Cover Girl (yes... i said Cover Girl) Super Thick Lash. Lasts only 2months, but soooo cheap and gives me thick, long lashes w/out smudging & flaking and super easy to remove.

I was going to buy it after my YSL finishes, whats so bad about it?Another question which is better Benefit Bad Lash Gal or DiorShow? they seem to have very similar brushes..

Hmm, I use BadGal Lash and it's good, but it's not THE BEST mascara ever. I'm thinking of getting DiorShow after this tube of Benefit BGL so maybe you should try that one instead! ^_^

Dior show is MUCH better than Bad Gal..there are a lot more bristles so much more mascara gets onto your lashes...bad gal is too liquidy for me!

I just bought my second tube! I love this mascara!

I've never really had bad luck with a certain mascara... am I being too lenient?

No problem golden, I would say stick to the regular mascaras because those fiber formulas are still pretty new and I'm sure in the future they will find a way to make it so it doesn't make your eyes really irritated.

I just saw that in the new holiday Sephora catalogue, it is beautiful. I may be buying the DiorShow Ice Pearl after seeing it on the model I am in love with it.

^^ what ? is that for real?
(I have been using Estee Lauder's more than mascara for years. It adds length but its a bit clumpy.)

what? does that really work? Putting little crystals at the end of your lashes?

has anyone tried l'oreal volume shocking mascara in that strange looking tube (if you can call it a tube)? there's a base coat with the fibers on one end and the other has a comb applicator. i tried it and i had to whip out my lash comb because the product really makes lashes stick together...just wondering your thoughts...
