The Mascara Thread

I love Lancome Definicils  I find that it lengthens & seperates without making the lashes look too "full" - no clumping and no flaking.

Aramni new mascara Eyes To Kill...they literally make ur eye lashes a killer!!

I really like MaxFactor False Lash Effect, better than any mascara I had, except for Chanel and Sisley.^_^

what that lancome definicil mascara does? i know many of you own it?
It's mainly about defining and accentuating what you have as opposed to adding a ton of volume or a ton of length. It's a great everyday mascara, or a mascara you'd use if you like subtlety. They also have Definicils Pro, which has a curved brush, and I find to be far superior.

what would you say was the best mascara for under £15? i want something that lengthens but doesnt clump and is available in the uk, i already have phenomeneyes by givenchy but its not suitable for everyday use, and im currently using benefit badgal lash everyday but its running out and i want to try something new.

I've gone back to Phenomen'eyes I couldn't find any replacement that even came close to what it does for me. I'm just going to have to find some way to make it last longer or just deal with going back to the store every week or two. Diorshow Iconic was pretty good but it's just not the same, I'm going to keep that one on call as my backup if I run out and can't get to the store right away or if they're out of Phenomen'eyes or something

i love lancome FATALE and maybeline the pink tube one? i dont know the name :(

It is very smudgy, which is a shame because it's amazing in many other ways. It's like it never properly dries.

^ I think that's why it does what it does, because with others I've noticed that after they dry they gradually shrink and shrink but since Phenomen'eyes stays kind of sticky it keeps the lift

I agree about phenomeneyes, I really loved how it made my lashes look but it smudged so much (I have smudge issues, same with Diorshow :()

has anyone tried lancome oscillation? apparently it was used on emma watson for last night's premiere and i thought her eyes looked lovely.

Just wanted to mention I tried Diorshow Unlimited as a substitute for Diorshow because it's less toxic (per cosmeticsdatabase.com). So far I'm finding it flaky & not loving it ... the fibers seem to be shedding in my eyes.

I've tried unlimited and I wasnt impressed either. however I love diorshow iconic and iconic extreme.

What do you mean by toxic? To the environment or to the person?

^ To the person ... per what I've seen in the database, Diorshow is 9 on a scale of 10. Blackout is a 5 and Unlimited a 6.

I love Dior Iconic, it really works for me - but it's a living hell to get it off at nights. I probably spend around 10 minutes removing it. I
have tried a lot of different makeup removers, but most of them only make my eyes burn. Now I'm using L'Oréal's Dermo-Expertise Eye & Lip Make-Up Remover (the waterproof edition - even though I don't use the waterproof iconic), and it works - but I'm not completly satisfied. Any other recommendations? :) It has to be a gentle make-up remover.
