The Mascara Thread

^ I really like YSL Faux Cils, it's one of my favourte mascaras and I would definitely recommend it :flower:

Although someone on here recommended Everlong, which I'm thinking about trying.

whats is like?
ive been thinking about getting one.

oh!
and the YSL mascara, which one do you guys suggest ?

faux cils is their most popular, I've tried it and didnt really like it. I recommend diorshow iconic if your going for a dramatic look, it thickens and lengthens more than any I've tried although it doesnt hold a curl very well.

see my mom is going to vegas in august, so shes going to go to sephora for me and get me the make up that i want

so im going by reviews on sephora.com and you guys, and so far it looks like the YSL mascara is the one i want.

btw, is there an eyeliner thread ?
i need some new stuff.

Why dont you just order online? Shipping is free over $50, you get to pick 3 samples, another with their weekly specials codes and another for each $100 you spend.

i tried before but you need a credit card.
i dont have one

plus, i have to wait until my paychecks get better so i can afford a 30 dollar mascara without going broke with the added subway cost.

so out of DiorShow Iconic and YSL Faux Cils, which would you reccomend.

I like Iconic more than YSL, though I only had a mini of Dior's, but for me Faux Cils looked good only for a very short time, 2 weeks maybe. Than it got way too thick, so I had like 5 eyelashes, and had to use the comb. It seemed to me like there's too much of product on the brush, though I tried wiping it with a tissue, that didn't help. So my vote is for Diorsow Iconic, it looks much more natural, though it's visible on your lashes).

I've written this so many times I think I'm going to make it into my signature:

I hate Diorshow. I tried a couple of them and they all smudged

I love YSL Faux Cils, but if you aren't prone to smudges maybe Diorshow will be good for you :flower:

I don't know, this might be the worst advice ever but sometimes I put just a tiny drip of water (very little or else it won't work) in the mascara when it gets too thick real quickly

-_-
its such a hard choice
i was reading reviews about both, and i think im leaning more toward YSL from what i read, but I dont know

my dior iconic brush broke, and my dior show mascara dried up completely, although i may try the water tip with it.

I'm so glad you mentioned this - I thought it was my imagination since I've never had this happen to a mascara but I had the same experience. I loved for a little while, it started clumping and I got another one thinking the one I had was just old or something. Same thing happend again and I went back to iconic.

would it make a difference if i used one of those little eyelash combs ?
i usually do whenever im rushing and just slap the mascara on.
takes the little clumps out and spreads the lashes.. :ermm:

ugh.
i hate decisions

Reading beauty product reviews can be a tedious process. Unless there is a general consensus, they aren't very beneficial to me. Plus, I think I pay more attention to positive comments than negative ones. ^_^

But I digress... I haven't used YSL Faux Clis, so I can't be of any assistance there. I do, however, love DiorShow (not Iconic, the original). My friend has tried both the Iconic and original mascaras, and she said Iconic was a bit clumpy. She tries new mascaras all the time but always returns to DiorShow.

Hope this helps a bit. :flower:

To confuse you even more, I had the exact opposite experience. I found the original and iconic diorshow very similar except that iconic clumps a lot less so I could layer more of it on without it looking bad.

Guessgirl96, how do you remove your Iconic? It's the only think I dislike about it, otherwise it's perfect for curl, volume, seperation :ermm:

I agree it's hard to remove, especially now that I got the waterproof one. I use one of the shu uemura oil cleansers to wash my face and remove makeup, and then this one my lancome to remove the stubborn bits.

colourmefashion - iconic is definitely the one I'd recommend :flower:

Iconic's the best - I have little to no interest in other mascaras since I started wearing it, it's that good ^_^
