The New Gothic / Neogoth

Hi Inferno

I like your hair. The stylign seems more Emo-pop/Emo-Goth to me, which i supose is the newest incarantion of Goth. It's cute anyway.

Hi Fashion.fashoff.
My humble oppinion of your outfit is that it's kinda cool. I like guys in skirts/ kilts- very Johnathon davis. My personal preference is for guys to dress more Industrial/metal Gothic than TradGoth or FetishGoth- and I don't really go for guys in shiny vinyl either. My ideal outfit for a guy is as follows:

-Band T-shirt or a slim vest/tank if you have good arms (Tool, Rob Zombie, Machinehead, Disturbed- whatever you are into) Or a black shirt works well too- worn with a T-shirt undernrath it- worn open jacket-style or tucked.
-Black combats or cut-off combats (not overly baggy like a skater though)
-BIG boots- Like like New Rocks or Gripfast- something chunky and industrial. Not Dr Martens though- too many punk associations- and theyre not chunky enough. Sometimes I like the look of combats tucked into the boots.
-Black hoodie jacket worn on own or under long black trenchcoat (leather or twill) or maybe a black army jacket.
- For accessories I quite like industrial goggles, big chunky belts and wrist band- not too many , just a few carefully chosen things.
Personally I also like to a guy to wear a small amount of smudged black eyeliner (if he suits it) and chipped black nail polish. You also can't go wrong with clean long hair and maybe a beard (Viking style) or an undercut or complely shaved (paratrooper style). And the ubiqetous tatoos and pircings that suit the guy (it's important that they suit the person)

I'm also quite partial to the 'evil businessman look' or black/ pinstripe suit and shirt with maybe a red tie.

Personally I'm really not into guys in Vampyre style outfits and make-up- i like em rugged. Suggestions for source material are 'Rob Zombie', David Draiman, Rob Flynn, the guys from KMFDM etc.

Obviously thses are only my personal preferences. As long as you are comfortable with the style you chose then thats all that matters.

You look perfectly gothic for a gothclub. Goth clubs aren't that strict, as long as you don't come dressed with white sneakers, blue jeans and a white tank (even if you did, you could just whisper to the doorman that "the damned conformists are so violent I have to wear a disguise" and you'd probably be fine)

Now I'm dying for an opportunity to say this B)

Nowadays i dont think just certain people as in "the goths" are the only ones wearing this trend in particular. lately ive seen many "mainstream" clothes and collections all inspired by the gothic culture. as for the urban tribe i dont think the way they dress now is a real reflection of what the gothic culture was based on. talking fashion, i think these are examples of a more loyal, yet current and fashionable way to portray the gothic period.
