at least from an editorial point of view...
there are just so many stylists and editors who love this look too much to ever let it go...

and you can still see this sort of thing on the runways...even this fall 08/09

yeah- the androgyny thread got somehow moved into the model section but i rescued it and brought it back to trendspotting..




my style lately is probably a bit of both androgyny and neo goth as you have so cleverly figured out...

post pictures, i want to know what this medieval goth is all about.

i think this neogoth (whomever coined the term, Kudos) has people confused.

i remember being in school, and the kids that dressed all in black with the heavy leathers coats, (even in the summer mind you) chains, and spikes...I remember them being labeled goth.

to me, the neogoth is a more mature look, it's a bit more refined. it need not be black, but it still maintains the whole dark vibe.

Lol most of the goths I know tend to stray in summer time. The look goes a little wonky. It begins to crossover into the cyber/industrial/punk/lolita fields and further from the medieval/victorian trends. I think those months are the time when you need to focus on your accessories and styling to maintain a neogoth look.

I didn't say you had to be pale, just that I'd love to see some non-pale people that could work this look friend. But that's a nice example you gave me there. Just what I was lookin' for.

Hmm, just wear short black dresses (babydoll or intricate t-shirt style) and black flat gladiator sandals, with no tights and black leather bands for jewellery? That's still not cheery and you won't melt. Because that's I associate the goths I know in summer with. Molten make-up.
