The Official Harry Potter Thread

^^I've noticed those posters, too. I was just too lazy to post 'em.
Thanks, sobriquet87.:flower:

his backstory in deathly hallows always makes me cry like a baby:cry:
he's still not my fave (Sirius is) but i definitely grew to like him more than i ever thought i could

I definitely do not like Snape and probably never will. However, learning more about his back story made me understand him more. But I can never like someone who can take his anger out on children like Snape did and not think twice about it. He mistreated Harry, because of things Harry's father did and that was wrong. But I think Snape is definitely the biggest antihero in the HP series.

Some HP news:

WB just announced that Deathly Hallows part one will not be released in 3D. This is the statement the film producers released about why this decision was made:

"Despite everyone's best efforts, we were unable to convert the film in its entirety and meet the highest standards of quality. We do not want to disappoint fans who have long-anticipated the conclusion of this extraordinary journey, and to that end, we are releasing our film day-and-date on November 19, 2010 as planned. We, in alignment with our filmmakers, believe this is the best course to take in order to ensure that our audiences enjoy the consummate 'Harry Potter' experience.
Producer David Heyman said, "For 10 years, we have worked alongside Alan Horn and the studio, whose priority has always been to preserve the integrity of Jo Rowling's books as we have adapted them to the screen, and this decision reflects that commitment."
Director David Yates continued, "This decision, which we completely support, underscores the fact that Warner Bros. has always put quality first."

Also, Daniel Radcliffe will be voicing a character in the upcoming Simpson's Halloween episode. His character will be a vampire named Edmund who falls for Lisa. It's supposed to be a parody of Twilight. Here's a picture of his character:

I LOVE the Simpsons idea.

And I hate 3D movies anyway, so no trouble from me. I can't wait to see it. :)

Haha.... I love the genius idea of having a Twilight parody but having Daniel voice Edmund... I mean Harry Potter is like the exact opposite of Twilight (plus theirs also the fact that he did work with Robert Pattinson in HP4 which is also slightly ironic!).

As for not having the movie in 3D it honestly doesn't bother me... I don't really like 3D movies, they are always overhyped and not worth it. To me, what matters the most is that the story, the costumes, and the acting are perfect (as well as special effects but not as 3D).

A few more new Deathly Hallows images appear in a 2011 calender. Among the images are shots of Hermione, Ron, and Harry being captured by the Snatchers; Xenophilius Lovegood; Hermione attacking Ron; and others: :D

No 3D for Harry Potter!

Plans scrapped for Deathly Hallows

When Part 1 of the final chapter of the Harry Potter saga soars into theatres, those expecting the action to leap off the screen will be disappointed.

Warner Brothers studio has canceled plans to release the first half of the Potter finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 in 3D. The picture was slated to be the first of the Potter franchise to use the popular new gimmick, but bosses have put the kibosh on those plans.

Starpulse reports that because the movie wasn't shot in 3D, a 3D release would require a complete conversion using complicated software. Now a studio rep says there's just not enough time between now and the film's November 19th release date to complete the conversion.

The studio is said to be 'adamant' that the second half of Potter's final chapter will be in 3D. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 isn't scheduled to hit the big screen until next summer.

I'm LOVING all of these posters!!!! I don't know which one to buy first!! My favorite out of the latest bunch is the Harry/Hermione poster. I just love that red dress and the looks on their faces.

I also love the Ron/Hermione one, because it's Ron/Hermione and I like how you can see the tent in the background. Nice touch.

^I don't know why the 3D thing is such a big deal. They were planning on releasing the movies in both 3D and 2D,
so people had the option to see which on they wanted. If it had been only 3D, then I would not have been happy.
I'm also not a fan of 3D movies, because they're more expensive and seem cheesy.

If you don't like 3D, then you didn't have to see it. However, I'm still happy they scraped the idea instead of releasing a
bad 3D version of the film. Way to go WB. :D

Harry Potter is too cool for 3D anyway! November 19 cannot come soon enough :buzz:
