The Perfect Tee

I'm always on the lookout for the perfect tee as well! I actually bought the Sheer Jersey Short Sleeve Summer T-shirt (try saying that three times over fast! hahaha:p ) from American Apparel and I love it! I also really like Hanes undershirts for men. They fit pretty nicely as well.

I agree that I have yet to find that perfect tee. The closest thing I've got is this vintage men's Rolling Stones tee that's longer in length (it's my good oversized tee), but the sleeves are long, so I roll them up. Le sigh, where is our Holy Grail of a tee?

I don't know if i'd call it the perfect tee, but I have some nice simple tees from Express that I like the fit and shape of.

i have a Delia's tee that fits me amazingly well. It is the perfect length. I find that too short tees make me look fat.

I have tried American Apparel...but I don't like the fabric always...they are ok, I suppose. Maybe something more designer though...I think I'd like a more luxurious fabric..but not too luxurious..

I've bought 2 shirts at American Apparel and both times the stitching has been off by a LOT. It's not the actual stitching but it's the sides... it's crooked. If I lay it down the sides don't match up and it's noticeable (to me anyway) when I wear it. Plus, it's a bit on the short side for me.

and i agree 100% I have not found the perfect tee either ;(

Another vote to American Apparel ... thought Benetton (not the one that's for the US, the italian one) is REALLY good ... it NEVER looses color or shape ... me loves it!

I've heard that Vince tees are good, so does anyone own any? They're not that bad in terms of price, so is it worth it to buy one and give it a shot?

delias.com has a lot of great t shirts. also urban outfitters.

My favorite T so far has come from La Redoute.

Most of their stuff is crap but they make a damn fine T-shirt! It's fitted but not skin-tight, perfect neckline, the material is thick enough but not too thick; long enough to go over the top of your jeans but not too long; short sleeves that don't make my arms look fat; and they come in a variety of lovely colors!

Last but not least, they're cheap! I think they're around $12.99 and sometimes they're on sale 2 for the price of 1. Yum-my!

Reminds me...I need to buy some more.

urban outfitters is the way to go! they have perfect fitting tees in every colors you can possibly think of. there're no designs or logos on it, so you can wear it with whatever.

I am a lazy Californian so I have 5 perfect basic tees for me. I have a pretty curvy body so sometimes I find shirts might be too tight in some areas and make me look like a burrito around the lower ab area or some have loose areas at the waist and make me into this shapeless box.

Banana Republic- A black V neck tee thats made of 94% modal and 6% spandex (There's another V neck thats just okay). Perfect body hugging, breathable, doesn't lose shape, been through the wash many times and still the blackest black.

American Apparel- I have bright solid colored tees here and they havent lost shape or color and they hug the body enough to make me look curved and not boxy.

Bennetton- They come in fun colors too :)

James Perse- The racerback tank fits well

Petit Bateau- I just got the scalloped crew neck shirt recently, and its not bad so far. Only wore it once so I don't know about longevity of it. Some people I know swear by it though.

I've only found 1 t-shirt that isn't too tight but not too wide either, doesn't hug my arms and is the perfect length (long enough that I can add a belt in the waist without looking funny, but short enough not to look like a mini dress) It's a band t-shirt I got when I joined a fan club, and I love it.

i was laughing so hard at the burrito comment!!!!!! LMAO!
i know what you mean, i'm the same!
the urban outfitters tops look good on the hanger and i've been wearing them lately, BUT they loose shape and i look like a burrito after a few hours. LOL

another vote for Urban Outfitters. the "Solid Boycut Tee" has the perfect fit. and it's $16, the same price as American Apparel. plus, mine has been through the wash quite a few times, it hasn't lost any shape.
...i thought it used to come in more colors, though...
