I just ordered a size 12 Stella McCartney dress...anyone here have any tips about her sizing? is it true or cut small like most designers?
I just want to let thread subscribers know that I've visited the Liz Claiborne website a few times and found some very good casual pieces that mix well with items I already have. I was surprised to find some cropped jackets and a few other more modern styles as well.
Another thing I like about this line is that the sizing is generous. I can still easily wear a regular extra-large in this line where I can't in several others. Not that I'm into what size my garment is anymore but there are just more options in regular sizes as we all know.
I was so sad to see them go. And yes, I also love Ellen Tracy.
Just as an update..I just got my Stella dress in the mail and the sizing is great! Fit like a dream!

when I find out that Liz Claiborne is thinking of divesting or possibly shuttering several of its brands, including my mainstay Ellen Tracy and Dana Buchman. That is NOT OK. I know that the younger women who post here are "meh" on those brands, but for me, they are professional, classic and age-appropriate.
^ Well, I wore those brands when I was younger
That really surprises me! Are they not profitable? They're the mainstays in bridge departments here ... usually the only thing you can find in a mid-level department store that's at all interesting ...
The models for EM look more full figured to me then "plus size", because they still hold their body proportion and they still have a "figure" if you will.
Plus size to me means that the person's body may be disproportionate and/or overly heavy in some area. I mean a plus size woman might have alot of weight that is distributed unevenly and may have to dress to "conceal" problem areas, so her style choices may be limited to what looks best on her at her current weight.
I agree... they look took...a bit hippy.
Plus size should be like 14-27 or something
The models look 10-12.
I'm a business writer and am interested in the business of fashion. On the other hand, maybe it will force me to shift more money into my IRA, traveling, etc.
