The Rachel Zoe Project ... Television Show

^ Oh my gosh her jewelry collection is tdf. I can only imagine how hard it must have been for her to donate that necklace she wore when she dated Rodger, I know I wouldn't have been able to do it.

Ugh, I felt so bad for Taylor this episode. She really wanted to go to Paris for the Chanel show, I don't blame her, but she does most of the work for Zoe and company. Honestly, I don't know what kind of stylist Brad is, seems more like a gay best friend for Rachel than stylist.

that's what said Rachel, non ?
She said she hired him coz he is gay and funny - on that Glamour shoot.
+ he is a social and nice person. so that's better for the Zoe Camp PR image, i guess. Brad has a career in PR, actually !

Rachel is such a control freak - i quote, that I even wonder sometimes why she hires another person than Tay (in whom she seems to have 100% trust).

What's going on with Tay and her career issues in this episode ? I cannot wait ....
:woot:

ok, i know Brad is next to useless (in a strictly stylist/work sense) but he is just so damn likeable and adorable!!!!!

I don't think he is a great stylist, but he brings great energy and I think that's very uplifting in a stressful environment. I like Taylor alot as well, but I don't think she's entirely suited to celebrity styling - I would definitely see her working for magazines in editorials, consulting work, working with fashion houses. (ie. more "serious" roles). I think that celebrity styling suits Brad very well because alot of it is about socialising, making connections, but this (given Taylor's anti-social nature) is probably what's driving Tay nuts.

Her jewelry collection must be a small fortune...it's crazy how much good stuff she has.

Anyway her doctor's visit had me rolling..."What the f*ck is Vertigo?!" "I don't have time for Vertigo!" LOL

I can't imagine being in Rachel's position and sending Brad, alone, to Paris to handle things....He is a great best friend, but as far as business decisions without any real direction....

^ yeah Boomer, but c'mon - like Zoe and co, actually DO anything at the shows. Its not as if they're editors or fashion critics, nor buyers or showroom people. They're really there just for fun, parties, and picking out catwalk pieces they like. I'll bet the real business decisions happen over the phone and email - probably with Marisa the personal assistant making calls to designers to have this or that dress sent over.

Marisa is in charge on Rachel's schedule.
Calling designers is the role of Rachel and her stylist asst.

A basic question - is there anything that does not bother or annoy Taylor?

Trying on new clothes - annoying
Going to fashion shows - annoying
Running around to your clients - annoying
etc

So... then, why is she still in this business?!

I am wondering the same thing. There are thousands of girls who would love to be in her shoes, so if she hates it so much, why don't leave, or just shut the f*ck up?

to quote the devil wears prada 'its the job a million girls would kill for'......but living it everyday and devoting your life to it - reality is different from fantasy. :stuart:

I agree her attitude is awful, she has no enthusiasm for anything.

once I think about it I would have a similar attitude as Taylor. Yes we would all love to have her job but think about doing the same thing every day when you are really the only person working. Shes the only one who really gets things done and Rachel hasn't given her a promotion since she started. Brad gets hired as a way to ease the load on her part but I havent seen him do much besides being Rachel's friend and attend parties. Also, if I were Taylor, I wouldn't have energy to go to parties either. Fashion isn't glamorous, you're working non stop for sometimes 20 hours a day. Taylor enjoys the business side of fashion not the glamorous/partying/ schmoozing side we all love.

And it was real nice of her to not only help Brad with styling Anne but letting him go to Paris even though shes never gone

Was I the only one dying over Rachel's jewelry collection? Omg, she has some really amazing pieces!

I feel like Taylor decided to let Brad go to Paris because she doesn't trust him alone in LA, working on those 3 jobs. I feel like he would be lost working without her supervision

Seriously. She's such a Debbie Downer about EVERYTHING. I have yet to hear her being enthusiastic about anything. She's my least favorite part about this show. I'm even used to her hair being in her face all the time. And I like her style. But girl, cheer up, chill out, or get out.

And I don't want to hear, it's tough, etc. 95% of America is working hard without the glamour and the perks Tay gets, so no.

Yes I agree with this!

Taylor's attitude has become so much more justified for me this season. I still think that she needs to suck it up a lot of the time, because ultimately this is the job she's hired to do.

But she's been in the same role for three years and she said in ep5 that no matter if Rachel calls her an associate she's still doing the same work she was when she was an assistant.

Brad was taken on to do some of the more menial day-to-day tasks but that doesn't seem to have happened.

It's her career and no matter how amazing and glamorous it might seem, or how much we'd love to have her job, it's not unsurprising that Taylor's feeling hard done by if she's hasn't seen the progression she was expecting or promised. It would be frustrating for anyone, Taylor just seems to let it get to her too much and it can end up looking unprofessional, but I completely empathise with her.

You're so right! All these designer clothes she gets and can buy; all these fashion shows and after-parties she can visit... come on! Not to mention "right" people she's met through Rachel.

Yes, of course, you may have good/bad days, but If you're daily complaining about everything, then that's really not your job.

Or just stop complaining and do something - no further development, quit and start to work on your own!

Yeah, It's still a fantasy for me too... :)

But to be honest, .. Seriously, I'd kill to get Taylor's job!

^ Yeah- it is so hard to feel their pain when they go from Versace to Gucci in their Lexus and Mercedes..Oh, how do they endure the difficulties!!

I know where most people come from, but then I do feel for Taylor. You do feel caged and trapped after doing the same thing year in year out. It's sorta like everyone would kill for a Vogue internship spot, but then after being an intern doing the same thing for 3 years, you would like to move up some where? I do think it's a bit harsh to criticize her without putting yourself in her shoes. :)
