The Row - The All-Things The Row Thread

I'm really looking forward to people being creative with clothes from both S1 and S2, tying them in with other items. So far we haven't really seen the true potential.

This entire line is ugly and unorignal. If I want basic tees & tanks I'll go to AA.

How can you say basics are ugly ? Sorry I dont get it

I've the same question like Jeff Banks on Kate Moss for Topshop - "Can she lift a pencil and draw a matchstick man?" :D

i work in the fashion dept at a women's magazine and we recently got in about 10 pieces from the (fall?) collection...a few jersey-ish tanks, t's, and dresses, a body-con strapless bonded red dress, the leggings and a few other pieces.....anyway the feel of the material and the cut of the fabric is really quite fab. this line is high-end; think helmut lang, rick owens. these aren't james perse-quality knits and the line is definitely not overpriced (just expensive! sigh).

Rick owens is basically the only thing I see when I look at their collection. :innocent:

Maybe I should have said 'uninspired' or 'unorignal' or 'over priced for what they are'.

yes you should

can anyone translate the article for those of us who don't read French??? Also, on the second page of the article I love the sleeves/gloves that the model has on!!

The French Vogue article looks awesome! Karma would be well deserved for anyone who can translate ! :flower:

for those who want to know... the article doesnt say too much... but here´s a summary:

first explain why they had the idea of creating a new line: as we know they wanted to find the perfect t and finally the made a complete line.
then why they chose the name: The Row is refered to Savile Row and the idea of luxury that this place represents.
Boutiques where the line is going to be available between others: Maria Luisa in Paris, Barneys NYC, 10 Corso Como in Milan, Harvey Nichols in London...
the main developers of the line are the Olsens (the article dont say anything more about it, but I guess there are more people involve, maybe people who know about that bussines) and then talks a little bit about their live & company: Dualstar...
the interview and shoot was made in Mercer Hotel NYC, the article makes a reference to what they are wearing and what they usually wear: mixing Chanel and Oscar de la Renta with vintage dresses...
the line is decribed as clean, intimate and sophisticated, focuses on basics and mixes grey, black and beige. the main piece is the t-shirt (describe as chic and contemporary, very long. they seem mini-dresses). other items are leggings, ultra-fined cachemire cardigans, smokings... ashley says that the line is very personal and marykate adds that they wanted to create a line that they could wear.
the conclusion of the article is that The Row is not as any other celeb-lines (it´s more refined, feminine and concentrated on essentials, it´s not just a whim) and as ashley says: "fashion is not a game".

and that´s all! hope that helps to understand the article.

"Fashion is not a game." I like that...
Nicely said Ashely.

does anyone have any pictures of themselves or friends in 'the row' clothing - I'm really interested to see how they fit, and if they truly are the 'best t-shirts on the market'...lol
