The September Issue : A Vogue / Anna Wintour Documentary

^Me too.

Charlie Churchward by the way looks like a horrible person in this documentary.

i really enjoyed it, it was too short though. it ended abruptly for me. the part where anna talks about her siblings made me sad :(

Yes, he's like a bloody bootlicker in the film. :ninja::lol:

Anyway, he's no longer at Vogue.

I just watched it today and it was way better than I expected it to be. I could probably watch it repeatedly and not get tired of it. (Okay, that's a lie, but it's still REALLY good)
Something about Grace just draws you in...
I almost became verklemped when she was basically demonizing celebrity culture and how it's changed the magazine world. I know she didn't really say it, but her insinuation of how models should come back into the spotlight was a bit hard hitting for me, because I completely agree with her.

Love Grace . The 20s and couture editorials were stunning. She has a great eye.

And my feelings about Anna are still the same: meh.

I wished this doc was a TV mini-series, rather than 120 min movie. :( There was so much more I wanted to see.

Not sure why my post got deleted over something that was said in the documentary it self and not my own words but whatever.

Moving on, I had no idea Grace was a model let alone had a Vogue cover. And she comes across more lovable than Anna. The comment Anna made towards the camera guy was uncalled for and I'm glad Grace told him otherwise! I truly wish the movie was longer because there was so much left out to me.

(did i follow the rules that time tfs?)

Thanks GOD he isn't anymore. Danko Steiner took over his role, right?

^Yes, he did, but Charlie was very manipulative towards Testino and Grace. Danko doesn't strike me as the kind of person to be manipulative.

Yes, or else Grace wouldnt have thought Danko was her friend

I would say Charlie was much less manipulative towards Testino, more towards Grace.

Tonne is like the complete opposite of Charlie :D

That is indeed true :D

I would say Charlie was much less manipulative towards Testino, more towards Grace.
When Charlie talked to Testino on the phone about the Sienna shoot, he mentioned the possibility of reshoot. It looked to me that he just made that up to get the Colloseum pictures. But in the end he was indeed more manipulative towards Grace.

It's an interesting film. And Grace is amazing, Anna seems to be surrounded by yes man and Grace it's just luminous. My only problem with the all movie is that US Vogue is c**p, it sells yes, but that does not make it good. I've got the nagging feeling after watching the film that all that is left out or labelled as less relevant would make a much better mag than the one we have. And that is Anna's fault, she's clearly very conventional.

I wish it played in the cinema. I guess if its already on DVD there is no chance it will playing in any Canadian cinema.

^ It's only been released on DVD in the UK - and any other country capable of playing Region 2 DVD's.

In Canada it's going to first show at the Vancouver International Film Festival on the 6th of October, so I'd imagine you'll see it in more cinemas there after that date.

Ahh no biggy. I can play region 2 DVD's so I am in luck

I honestly can't stand limited releases
