We all know the rather sad current state of affairs of recent September "Issues" so let's skip the drawn out drama and cut to the chase!


Let's makes this a fun thread where everyone can post their Issue Highlights from their favorite September Issues!


Whether it's the cover/corresponding editorial, other fav fashion shoots, that one obscure little interview or feature or clever catch phrase, here's where to share September gems, to your heart content

Very text heavy cover which is hard to pull off but here it works, for me anyways.

I love the dreamy warmth, opulence and transportive quality.
And of course Kirsten Dunst heavenly as MA

PS I had in mind making this thread more of a "Greatest Hits" if you will spanning from 2000s on up so to be able to include a wider range of September Issues


Perhaps we could even include some Vintage Issues? I'd be down with that!

Also If you need inspiration to jog your September Issue memories just pop on over to eBay specify Fashion magazines, which titles you wanna include, date ranges with the Keyword being September!

I think there are already similar 'greatest hits' threads in place for respective magazines, eg:
Vogue/Bazaar under Anna/Alexandra/Glenda/Carine etc, not to mention threads for the photographers, stylists, models etc.

But this idea for 'Greatest Hits Sept 14' seems good as it can encapsulate the mood and standard of materials from various publications.

Well given that September Issues are so meaty and THE ISSUE the publishers and reader's alike look forward to most (ideally) I think a stand alone thread dedicated to all Sept Issues dated from 2000s on up to Current makes sense and makes for a more exciting, dynamic thread


Another September 2014 'Best Of' thread can be created also

One of my favorite teenVOGUE covers of all time and Anne Hathaways' best magazine cover, imo. Often "hi-lo" styling jut looks fashion victim-y but here thanks to Jillian's retrained opulence, her styling prowess and Anne's natural beauty shines though. I love the way the texture of the beret plays off her amazing brows; totally makes the cover. Everything ties in beautifully.


Another text heavy cover, which when done right, can really add energy and excitement to the overall impact of the cover.


I actually enjoy and live to see how art director's handle and manipulate text heavy layout and covers. It takes immense skills to make it look 'effortless' and simple. That was the most challenging (i.e. nail-bitingly stressful) and exciting aspect of the InDesign/page layout course I took last quarter in graphic design school. Bad execution and art-less cover text is I think is what most people react negatively to, not the presence/quantity of text lines....


Here the cover lines are presented in a clever, purposeful, thoughtfully organized way, as cover lines should be!
