Im rooting for samatha as well...^_^actually i think she should have won the french open....:doh::doh:

Here's who I'm rooting for:

Men: Roger of course. ;) But I don't think he's a lock to get to the final any more. Now he's a bit older he's starting to become more vulnerable although he's still incredibly hard to defeat on grass.

Also hoping Hewitt and Roddick have a good tournament. Felt a bit bad for Roddick last year (even if I don't like some of his on-court behaviour) because he really really tried and didn't quite make it.

Women: Justine for the title! :D I don't know whether she believes herself that she can do it this year but she's got a shot.

Also Anna Chakvetadze (not to win Wimbledon, just to get one win :ninja: ), and the Brit girls (especially Heather and Laura).

congrats to ekaterina! goes through qualies beats petrova, kuzi, stosur and azarenka to win.

very much a dangerous floater at wimby especially with that lethal lefty slice serve.

Here we go! Go Kim!

Tough for Janković, playing a home player in the first round.

Can someone please confirm that I am watching this correctly. Roger Federer is 2 sets down in the 1st round..!?

Tell me about it! Haha Fed just got a set back, we are returning to reality.

egads....i woke up to this!!

well we said it initially...roger is looking vulnerable. and how well is falla playing? no fear.

If Falla can keep playing like he has, then he can win this...but it's tough to say how bad the injury is, and also losing the third set is obviously disheartening...hope he does win though, be nice if the crowd gave him a bit more credit for what he's done.

^i noticed that myself. i though most fans appreciated an underdog like this?

i don't like to think ahead but can you imagine roger going down in r1? that would give a nice opening for somebody like berdych or wawrinka. davydenko too if he's able to come through his match but he too is down two sets to one.

that's too bad for falla getting injured....what a tremendous opportunity that was.

so roger is still active afterall. i wonder how this will affect him the rest of the way? he really has no other outright danger ahead of him till perhaps melzer.

I knew it was going to finish with RF's win, even before Falla was serving for the match in the 4th. Lower ranked players always choke against the top ones, esp. in the first rounds. Too bad, this would have been the best thing happened in tennis after 2003.

I guess RF is going to win the next one wit 6-1 6-2 6-3 as he usually does after scares like this.

Roger played badly, another opponent would not have let him off the hook like that. Pre-tournament I thought he wouldn't blink until the quarters but if he came up against a tough opponent with no fear, he'd have trouble given his recent form in tight matches...he didn't raise his level at all today.
ugh and CILIC! Horrible day.

^he really didn't raise his level whatsoever and that's pretty surprising.

yeah i dunno, could melzer,if given that kind of chance, hold his nerve or wawrinka?otherwise i think we can expect rog in the quarters at least.

too bad for frannie. i was hoping she could make a nice run but dushevina is such a tough first round opponent....for anybody.

Always takes a little time to readjust after winning a slam, disappointing but perhaps not totally unexpected?

Robredo & Wawrinka gone! Though Istomin is playing great lately, that's still tough - so many seeds gone today.

What a scare!

Just wow. He's extremely lucky that he could get away with that one. Champion's luck, I guess.
