The Vampire Diaries

Last nights episode was so good! :woot:

-Klaus is a vampire/werewolf hybrid. :o (That makes things more complicated).
-Elijah was in love with Katerina. Aw :(
-Damon telling Andie to leave so he wouldn't kill her. (Also a sad moment)
-Elena keeping her word with Elijah, kudos to her for that.
-Elijah saying only a witch who could channel lots of power could kill Klaus. And of course Elena says she knows one.

I can't wait for next weeks episode!!! :buzz:

Breaking: CW Renews Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Gossip Girl and 90210

The CW has extended early pickups to The Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, 90210, Supernatural and America’s Next Top Model.

No word on the fate of bubble shows Nikita, One Tree Hill and Hellcats.

Regarding OTH, CW execs are no doubt waiting to see if lone season 9 holdout James Lafferty agrees to return next season in some capacity, as they hope he will.

Top Model, meanwhile, returns in the fall with its first-ever All-Star Edition, featuring breakout characters from past cycles.

TVLine’s Renewal Scorecard has been updated!

The Vampire Diaries Death Toll 'Will Be Extreme,' But Who Will Be Left Standing for Season 3?

Brace yourselves for some good (and not-so-good) news, Vampire Diaries fans: Executive producer Julie Plec says that Season 3 of The CW’s just-renewed hit will be “the Season of the Originals.” Which means — drumroll, please — recent Mystic Falls imports Klaus (played by Joseph Morgan) and his brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies) should see the light of another season.

Both Gillies and Morgan were initially locked in as recurring characters on TVD, but Plec playfully told reporters on Wednesday evening that the decision about the actors’ probable promotions to series regular status will be “made when we break story for Season 3,” which happens after Plec returns from her post-season getaway.

As for the rest of the cast, their collective fates still hang in the balance — though Plec did take a moment to “dispel any [specific] number value” floating about the interwebs.

“All I’ve ever said is that there will be some severe and tragic consequences, and that the loss of life will be extreme over the last couple of episodes,” she offered. “We set this ritual in motion early on, and it needs several sacrificial elements, so if it happens — and where it happens, and when it happens, and if it goes off without a hitch — there will be a lot of loss of life.”

Michael Trevino (who returns to Vampire Diaries with a new attitude this Thursday at 8/7c) was also on hand to chat with the press, and gave a tiny tease that may have actually revealed Tyler’s fate. “It’s like Tyler went through army boot camp,” he said of his slightly more subdued character. “I wanted to switch it up, but only subtly.”

TVD‘s resident werewolf proceeded, “I don’t know where they’re going to go with Tyler in Season 3, but there have to be [more] changes. Hopefully we can get into explaining what he was doing when he was gone, and who was he involved with.” So it’s probably safe to say good ol’ Tyler will make it through the ritual. (Or not. These Diaries folks are masters of the tease.)

And if your beloved character doesn’t make it to the end of the season finale — which, let’s face it, is always a possibility in Mystic Falls — Plec teased that they may not be gone for good: “We do have ways of letting our audience see their fan favorites again…over time.”

How are you feeling about the TVD death toll now? Think Tyler and the Originals are in the clear? Let us know in the comments!

How surprising that they're going to kill a bunch of characters. I wasn't expecting this..

^Bah, it will just be gueststars so who cares? They always try to hype up their finales with "deaths".

All I care about it that both Elijah and Tyler are set to return next season. Wouldn't mind it if uncle John survives too, but there isn't a lot of love for his character so I fear he's an expendable character.

Caroline is very popular - she's not going to die.

Just saw the new episode!!! So good! :woot:

-Damon forces Elena drink his blood, so that she can't die during the ritual.
-Matt briefly meets with Sheriff Forbes telling her that whether Caroline is a vampire or not, she still seems exactly the same as she did before. Sheriff Forbes clearly does not agree.
-Damon, on his way to rescue Caroline and Tyler, is attacked by Klaus' warlock. Just when things get really bad for Damon, who should appear, but Matt with a gun! Matt shoots the warlock and saves Damon.
-Damon and Matt rescue Caroline and Tyler from being the vampire and werewolf sacrifices for the ritual.
-Caroline and Matt are locked together in a cage while werewolf Tyler is trying to get in. (Matt has a gun loaded with silver bullets).
-And bad news, Klaus has already found another vampire and werewolf for the ritual. Jules and Aunt Jenna  (who is in transition!!!).<<<Didn't see the Aunt Jenna part coming.

Can't wait for next weeks episode!!! :buzz:

Thought it was rather boring. Elena is about to die and they take a long walk? Really?
Damon was a douche and what he did was unforgivable.
Not enough Elijah.
Didn't see Jenna turning coming - and definitely think she's going to die.

^It was honestly ridiculous and it dragged the episode. It's about to get fast-paced - cut to Stefan and Elena admiring the waterfalls. WTF? Also, leaving Jenna alone? Great idea

I found it boring too. I was so hyped up to see some action and all we got was Elena's last night. Where the heck were Bonnie and Jeremy? Also Damon just super pissed me off. It's always about him, never considering other people's feelings and wishes. And also agree, there just wasn't enough of Elijah.
