wow great theme! almost had a crisis then, have just come back from holiday and couldn't find the thread, when was it moved?

glad i found it - panic over!

Yeah, I also realised that the thread was moved. I couldn't find it anywhere, I was having a panic attack lol.
Hmm, let's make the dead line to this coming Wednesday. Then I can give reviews on Thursday and the next theme can be on Friday.. Is that okay with everyone, or is extra time needed?

*nudge, nudge*
Is anybody still here?? I don't see any entries coming in.. and the deadline is very soon..

The trousers are made out of a course (?right spelling) hand dyed cotton, the top out of a finner weave of the same but in a light tan colour.

The belt and boots are both of a worn leather. the belt has lots of charms, bags ect hanging of it. there is a charm around the neck.

place - deep in cornwall so the outfit is suited for sea and land. very practical.

That's so perdy Anastars! I absolutely love the belt. Unfortunately I can't judge tonight, since yours is the only entry.. How strange, I think many people haven't responded because the thread's been moved into a different area of the forum.
Since there is only one entry, the deadline will now be on Saturday! Hopefully we'll have at least a few more entries in! C'mon everyone, I really wanna see some Gypsy funk!

My girl's sort of an urban gypsy. She lives out of her old beaten-up suitcase. Layering is key because she carries all her belongings. A green nubby cap keeps her warm, she has a purple henley and a blue flowing skirt on. A red sweaterjacket and a fur vest keep her warm on her travels. Her vintage brown boots are flat and give her comfort as she walks.

kinda rushed this one, so i don't really have a story...

this is my version of the modernised gypsy look - a peasant style blouse with eyelets and a stiff collar, cinched by a narrow corset closed in a bow.
to update the colourful, layered/patched skirts i think of when i envision gypsies, i threw some random prints (which i could've thought about more...) together into a pencil skirt.

Thank you! no problem about the judging. More people have posted their ideas now.

The are all so good. tasukettte, i love the skirt!

Everyone, I'm going to give my reviews and judge tonight! Please get any last minute entries done before this time! Good luck ;)

This was such a good theme...to bad I'm a little late, but looking forward to the next one!

 Sorry that I'm so late everyone, my internet wasn't working till today. Okay, here we go...

REVIEWS

Anastars: You really took into account the culture of gypsies, with the charms and organic materials. It's really attractive and it looks so comfortable too! The belt is my favorite part of the outfit, it's practical and stylish.

Emma_leigh: I adore your use of layering! And I'm mad about that green cap, she really looks like a traveller. The only thing I would change is the colors you used, all the different contrasting colors seem to clash with one another.

Tasukette: I love that your outfit is so modern but still resembles the style of the gypsies. I love her style, and I would kill to have that blouse. Your out fit is trendy but still elegant.

So the winner is....

Tasukette!!
I really loved your modern gypsy, and the small details you took into account really caught my eye (like the medallion trimmed ankle straps, bangles and head shawl), and portrayed the style of a gypsy in a modern and innovative way. Congratulations!!

thanks!!

i guess now i'm responsible for a new theme...so..
(hope i'm not repeating a previous one...)

YOUR MISSION:
to design a garment inspired by an animal - could be bird, mammal, fish, reptile, whatever you like. you could use animal prints, shape your clothes in the proportions of an animal, etc. - whatever you want!

the other criterion: please make your design wearable. costumey/gimmicky and unrealistic clothes are my pet peeve. (i'm really not a great fan of many haute couture lines!)

will a sunday deadline be good for everyone?
