Think Pink for Spring 06? | the Fashion Spot

Think Pink for Spring 06?

no it isn't......

unless it's a very dusty pink or pale blush...
but it's basically all dusty and pale colours...
including greys and blues and naturals...

I hate the dull colour trends of this season. But the pink should be lighter than the shades I saw on those sites.

Agree on this... Pink is so not hot trend for summer ... But done in pale tones (like at Preen), it can be "acceptable"....

But seriously, I am VERY tired of pink... I'd just rather NOT see it, not matter how pale or washed out it is... :ninja: I am all for black/soft grey colors for this summer...!

Well I was at Holt Renfrew today and I noticed that this years Spring colors for men is very bright and lively. I noticed alot of aqua blues, marine green, bright peach tones, and alot of stripes. Speaking upon what I saw ofcourse.

I agree with Softgrey about the neutrals, dusky pinks and pale colours.

However, I have also seen shots of very bright jewel-toned/primary colours. Reds, bright yellows, purples. Quite confusing really this colour guessing game.

In addition to the nude pinks, there is a brighter/intense pink as an accent ... I thought this was a bright idea original to me, until I opened my Bazaar and saw this tip, complete with a pic of bright pink shoes from the Prada runway :p

Nautical continues strongly from last season (red is part of that), and coral continues as well, with coral prints often not coral colored.

I've also seen an awful lot of sand, in addition to the neutrals that have already been mentioned.

I myself am planning to do shades of grey and dusty black, with raspberry for an accent.

I also continue to see heavy magazine coverage of the neoGothic trend--see the latest Elle, for example. I've also seen some really nice lower-priced interpretations of what Balenciaga did for spring--I think this look will be very attainable.

All in all, I think spring is going to be romantic and subtle.

I suppose there will be those who feel the need to glam it up, but luckily I already have my life optimally arranged to run across those people as seldom as possible ;)

Pink may be big in the juniors dept though, who knows ;)

At the moment in aus Pink has become one of the seasons colours for men , But its not so popular for girls, girls are still going through a hippy and floral print phase accompanied with beads and oversized sunnies .... and im not complaining:p

^Are they?

Are you talking about the hippy trend in terms of catwalk or general street trends?

Coz S/S 06 is decidedly UN-hippy. There are some floral prints. But for the most part, it's very subtle and minimalist...almost utility like.

I was reading a fashion magazine and I also heard deep moss green especially with the new trend of S/S 06 dress pant short, shorts.

^ Do you mean like the Gucci green Julianne Moore wore on the cover of Bazaar? There was a bit of that around, but I thought only a bit ...

Yeah that type of green. From what I hear we will be seeing alot of those tones in women's clothing.

Thanks for pointing that out my dear! I noticed pink clothing weren't as popular as BRIGHT pink accessories. Bright colored accessories will be needed to spark up outfits done in neutral colors this summer! I will be posting some pics! :flower:

Ah, well, I'm glad to hear of the accessories being pink, because I just bought some running shoes that are accented with "bubblegum pink" (that was before I saw this magazine) which already makes me feel iffy because I don't usually wear any pink. But these were the most comfortable runners I could find (A+) so I chose them over a prettier pair that was only A- in comfort :)

I don't think pink can ever be a trend, no matter what the shade. You cannot take the hot pink out of Pucci, and Pucci is forever trendy!

I think grey, white and black is the color for this spring but I prefer the pale and natrual colors.

I'm not feeling pink for this season at all

I agree. I am very happy to seeing colours evolve from girly to feminine.
