Is there someone holding a gun to your head that's going to make you look at clothes you're clearly not interested in?
I so look forward to seeing the same things at the Tom Ford boutiques in Toronto.
Look, do I wish his menswear varied more, had more of an edge? Yes. Then again I'd wear it in a heartbeat if I had the means and lifestyle to do so. But at the end of the day Tom Ford isn't stupid enough to design with the intention of pleasing the masses of digital critics who look at clothes and dismiss them because they don't look "new" enough. He's putting out these clothes because they sell, and sell well.
Honestly I appreciate the honesty. Knock him all you want, but at least he's not one of the countless designers who do fantastic runway collections that don't ever see the light of day, or worse, are so heavily edited down that one wonders what the point is.
