track jackets and track pants! or when they dress too ''matchy matchy''

I don't see a lot of fashion trends I'm sick of because most girls at my school either wear shirts that don't fit them, faded denim and hoodies, or jeans and a t-shirt. Yawn.

I'm seeing the same thing. My school is very "Abercrombie & Fitch" mixed in with skinny jeans, and an oversized cardigan.

Something else, which I'm seeing SO much of is leggings as pants. Even the not-so-thick ones. Come on, people! Play it old-school. Put on pants. Myself, and everyone around you will appreciate it.

^ woah, i don't think i've ever seen them being worn in california! or not that i know of...

Trends in general.

Why can't people just be themselves? Why does everybody have to try and copy somebody else? Why do people have to look to others to figure out what they're supposed to wear?

As soon as anything becomes a trend I drop it as soon as I can, unless I personally really love it. It's why I never step foot in urban outfitters, it pretends to be edgy but it's actually incredibly bland.

yes! i have always loved lace (like lace dresses, lace skirts, ''lace leggings''. but now when EVERYBODY wears it, yuck!

Fall is officially here. This means that boots will become more popular in colder weather. But with one of my most hated trends (as far as to look stylish), it means that tucking boots into jeans is a trend that I wish would go away like what I initially thought of when I first saw leggings under denim mini skirts. This trend isn't going anywhere (to my dismay) as "The View" (which I saw for the first time back on Tuesday) had one femme wearing skinny jeans with the legs tucked into a cute pair of riding boots.

Let me state something for a moment. I don't hate the boots. I don't hate the jeans. I just don't like combining the two and tucking them in. Perhaps it's because I don't live in a city where piles of snow or extremely wet and miserable walking conditions don't take form in colder times. Tucking stirrup pants into boots is VERY fine with me (because we don't have to see the early 1990's embarassment known as stirrup pants). Tucking leggings into boots is fine with me.

Speaking of leggings, allow me to get to a trend I'm hoping doesn't take flight for real. It took me a while to get over leggings under skirts (especially denim mini skirts). But nowadays, the leggings-under-(bottom) trend has gone to shorts. I've disliked leggings under skirts until I eventually got over it. Well now, it's footless leggings under shorts that has me thinking "fashion victim!" each time I see someone pair footless leggings or footless tights with shorts. I know fashion can be more versatile for femmes than hommes. However, I hate it when a style I don't like is being applied in other different ways. It provides difference in style, but it doesn't mean it's better. I loathe the idea of leggings under shorts for males or females (I think the trend is stupid for males). The only exception for tights under shorts are very tall tights covered up by the legs of shorts. For example, pairing tall tights under walking shorts. I'd prefer opaque tights with appropriate shoes or boots if I were a lady. But if you're using the same length leggings under mini skirts and trying to wear them with your favorite pair of shorts, congratulations- you've transferred one terrible look to a look that's even more terrible. Thankfully, I haven't seen too many femmes (or especially hommes) in person pairing shorts with leggings. Almost a cheap excuse to want to wear a mini skirt or shorts just to pair them with leggings. I'm still trying to get over leggings under mini skirts, now my "rehab" begins with leggings under shorts.

Finally... those boots in Post #6,284... one of the all-time worst boots I've ever seen. I've seen rain boots that look better than those hideous abominations. Those boots were made to be tossed into a trash incinerator (along with those open-toe abominations from Gucci in the open-toe boots thread I attacked. The boots from Post #6284 are terrible. There's no defending them. If you want to wear flip-flop/thong sandals, wear a proper pair of thong sandals. If you want to wear boots, wear proper boots. If you can't decide on wearing one or the other, avoid those [Post #6,284] boots at all costs! It's that simple. Why must some designers try so hard to combine the best of various shoe and sandal types into making terrible footwear? Some things are better left by themselves and not as some freakish hybrid.
