Trends You Are Sick Of #3 (November 2010 - September 2014)

I am so tired of seeing hipster men in animal prints. Maybe it's because I live in the Hipster Mecca that is Portland, but it drives me nuts. It makes every guy that wears it look like a '70s p*rnstar.

Horrors! Hope we will be spared that travisty here! I am curious to know what else is becoming ubiquitous in Portland?

I'm really not a fan of those multi-layered maxi skirts/dresses which look like hot pants with transparent fabric draped over them.

The half-tuck....Is it considered a trend? I cringe every time I see it :innocent:

And the tumblr about what bloggers wear is spot on, especially the bracelet and the Diptyque candles (almost always on a tray).

HI-LOW SKIRTS/MULLET SKIRTS whatever you want to call them, they are absolutely heinous and unflattering and just plain bad.

For years already, but it makes me cringe too. It looks ALWAYS too thought out/overstyled.

it depends, if you gets the right length, I doubt that will look overstyled.

the girl on the right looks good, the one on the left of course it just doesn't work.

^I think the half-tuck is fine on jeans/trousers with a lower rise. A long top tucked into high waisted trousers can look a bit over styled, I agree.

I'm not too fond of the half-tuck myself. Tucking in half of a top just looks awkward, but it does sort of show the length of the top. I saw someone on LOOKBOOK who had a rather long button-down top halfway tucked in. I don't like the half-tuck all that much, but I can probably see it's practicality when doing outfit blog posts and pictures.

A trend I can't really stand is THIS skirt I have seen it everywhere worn with sandals and a sweater

I still haven't got/cared/awed hidden wedge sneakers. I'd still take those over most gladiator sandals, over-the-knee boots, or any other footwear trend I've disliked or still dislike anyways. So in mentioning Isabel Marant's wedge sneakers, I'm more along the lines of "I'm not much fond of wedge sneakers anyways; the Isabel Marant ones are just another example of my not liking of most wedge sneakers."

 I'm sorry that I just saw this! As to be expected, there are many more embarrassing trends cropping up in Portland - like booty shorts and fishnets, having half your head shaved and the other half dreadlocked (is that a verb?), platform clogs (wedge and not wedge alike - regardless, they all need to be used as kindling), unisex harem pants, and anything Modcloth sells (with varying results. Sometimes it looks really nice, other times it looks painfully forced).
