Trends You Are Sick Of #3 (November 2010 - September 2014)

On the LOOKBOOK circuit, I've disliked seeing Bart Simpson prints and (certain) Mickey Mouse prints. They are better off in sleepwear than in casual clothes.

did someone already mention 'Comme des ****down'?
i see so many people wearing their awful beanies everyday ...

Trends that somehow continue to stay even if they are allready very overdone
- Galaxy print
- Wedge sneakers
- Onesize
- Doc Martens (Ok I have some… anyway the reason is that they are no longer invudualistic, worn and seen to much to even make a statement)
- Mustache prints
- The mui mui bird and marc jacobs sort of bird print/symbols
- Triangels
- People who can´t wear their hats right seems like a trend (destroys the whole outfit)
- Leopard prints (can work on a rare few though)
- Fjällräven Backpacks (in Stockholm at least)

Ugh, I swear I was going to post about those here, too. I feel like they're the ultimate status symbol of every European hipster, I see them everywhere here in Switzerland, too. And it seems like people who wear them deliberately beat them up and make them dirty so they look more vintage?

I also agree about the galaxy prints, especially on leggings and in funky colors that make no sense, yuk.

boxy fit

ugh. boxy, baggy fit clothes. i know this trend is just starting to really take hold cause its all i see when trying to shop. *mod note - no weight discussion please* i was a teen in the 80s and this fit feels exactly like how everything used to fit back then, oversized, boxy, dolman sleeves on everything. girls would wear guys clothes. yuck! i hated when the skin tight 90s silhouette became popular, those infant tees of the 90s but i guess i got used to, as i call it, sausage casing tops. yeah, maybe skin tight and show everything but at least you could see whats there. i like feeling like a girl not a man. i think i would prefer somewhere in the middle of sausage casing and boxy fit erring more towards sausage casing cause im sorry but boxy is just not flattering. and im a massive 80s fan. i cannot find anything remotely fashionable that i like. fashion is horrific now. i wish theyd quit rehashing the past and move forwards. i prefer a more outer space, star trekian vibe, cyber, sleek, details in the cut and the way things fit and are sewn together.

I kinda agree with the previous poster, in some ways.

When will the nice fitting top/blouse with a cord or belt around the waist come back? It was the fashion of 2006/2007, I extremely liked it, and I want it back. Not too oversized, not too tight, just flattering.

At the moment, a lot of tops/blouses are too boxy, or see-through (also very annoying), or both at the same time.

agree. see through is so annoying cause then you have to plan what to wear under and its not appropriate for alot of places, that trend needs to go, yesterday! i would love some nice fitting blouses, preferably NOT in polyester or any other plastic blend. id like to add, my biggest sick of, is t-shirts. i hate them. yes, i wear them at home where no one sees me but i dont want to wear a tshirt out in public. it feels cheap, slobby, like a rag. i want real clothes that fit well. ive had a hard time finding basic pants that fit well too. i want a slim leg, jegging tight fit but in a trouser style. a trend id like to see return is casual pants cut skinny. used to be popular about 10-13 years ago. there were all kinds of pants but they were boot cut. just make them skinny with a slightly higher rise. id like to see an end towards layering too. id like to wear one blouse and a bra. not a bra, a cami, a top and a cardigan.

Again something I agree with. The layering trend feels quite thought-out, to force people to buy more clothes.

I don't see layering as a trend so much, one has to wrap in multiple layers of clothing to keep warm for example. It's the most practical way of dressing.

Yeah I agree layering is just practical, it's essential in Ireland with our schizo weather.

& don't get me started on see through shirts/tops/blouses, it's impossible to find tops that aren't see through or chiffon in shops for the past 2 years :/

^oh yeah! you find a nice top and then you get disappointed b/c it´s see through! hate that trend!
but I love layering

Among the worst trends for me:
-Creepers. Some things should just stay in the '90s and never come back.
-Floral prints. At first I really like them, but these days everyone looks wrapped up in their grandma's couch's print.
-Galaxy prints. They are literally everywhere.

Basically anything from MJ pajamas obsession. Every punk t-shirt from Givenchy, those Tisci's Rottweiler, Bambi and Virgin Mary sh*ts. Those tigers from Kenzo. They all have their heyday but please stop recycling the same ideas.

I am so tired of seeing hipster men in animal prints. Maybe it's because I live in the Hipster Mecca that is Portland, but it drives me nuts. It makes every guy that wears it look like a '70s p*rnstar.

I'm so tired of walking into stores and seeing imitation Alexander Wang Spring 13 EVERYWHERE. Such an overload of cut out, mesh and laser cut monochrome poorly cut clothing.

Here are two trends I'm not feeling that won't likely sit with some fashionable types...

I'm just not fond much at all with leather panel jeans/pants. Even if they are all black, I am just not feeling them much at all. I just don't like them.

Another trend I'm not feeling are black and white striped bottoms. Stripes are huge and all these days. However, I'm just not liking most striped black and white pants, skirts, and such.

So there are my latest fashion rants.

Oh, yes. Those River Island dresses especially are horrendous.
