I think Bella truly loves Edward. (spoilers) She wouldnt have agreed to marry him and she wouldnt be so dead set on becoming a vampire just to spend an eternity with him. Sure she can love Jacob, but I dont think she really loves Jacob the way she loves Edward.

^ I know, but, don't you think she sounded really like, (spoilers) Ok, I guess we'll get married now, only because we've said we would.
But it was like she was reluctant too and she wasnt as enthusiastic about the idea of being with Edward forever, anymore.

Twilight was a nice little novel. I read the series mainly for the character of Edward Cullen. It really bothers me too that Stephanie doesn't inject any feminism into the character of Bella. She seems as though she gets more vapid with every novel.

During New Moon and Eclipse, it bothered me that she kept hurting herself. It was the same thing over and over again, she hurt herself and Jacob/Edward came to her rescue. Why can't she save herself?

The reason I liked the character of Bella in Twilight was because she was so incredibly persistent. Although she found Edward to be an intimidating figure, she still stood up to him and demanded the truth. That was the reason why I kept reading the novels, for the dynamic between Bella and Edward.

Personally I think Stephanie pushed the Jacob plot a bit too much. I understand that he saved her but the same cycle over and over again got really boring and irritating.
However, I kept pushing myself to finish New Moon and Eclipse because some of the Bella + Edward scenes really were gems in the rough (can you believe I just said that?)

I agree with Kissmesweet, Stephanie's writing is really generic but she's created a modern romantic superhero in Edward Cullen.

I think shes just afraid of commitment because of Renee and Charlie got married at her age and that ended up in a divorce. She doesnt really have a good role model for marriage (yes I know she can look up to Carlisle and Esme, but they arent your normal married couple)

I'm really curious about what Bella will be like as a vampire (looks, abilities) - if she ever decides to get one - and if her and Edward will do ... it.

... If she does become a vampire in the end, I cant wait to see her clumsiness go. I did get a little annoyed with her always falling and Edward always catching her or Jacob catching her. Theres only so much damage a body can take..

.. ALSO, if she does become a vampire, if she does get an ability, I hope its not something we would totally expect. And I also hope that her thoughts stay in her head and out of Edwards. I feel thats what really makes them so compatable with each other. I wouldnt want my boyfriend/fiancee knowing EVERYTHING going through my head, theres no room for surprise there.

I can really just see it though, the things that will change her mind like hurting Charlie if she goes through with it and she'll think that Edward is her first love and she hasnt expierenced anything other than him etc etc. I'm sure Stephanie will think of a whole lot of reasons why staying with Edward wouldn't work...Breaking Dawn will disappoint me, I just know it

It would be very interesting if while on patrol, something happens in Forks and Charlie winds up getting shot and dieing, which would give Bella more motivation to becoming a vampire knowing that she wouldnt see Renee that much anyway because of 'college' and with Charlie being dead, she wouldnt have to worry about taking care of him or hurting him when she leaves (of course she'll mourn his death) and after the furneral and seeing Charlie for the last time, she decides to flee Forks and have Edward change her.

And while on her journey to Alaska or something, running into Jacob who refuses to phase so he can stay human, tells him of Charlies death and how Billy is so heart broken over losing his son and his best friend, then they settle theyre differences, Jacob sees that Edward and Bella belong together, finally accept that and go back to Forks.

There. Everyone lives happily ever after. Until the Volturi show up somewhere in the far away future.

Well, if she does choose Jacob instead, I'm sure Edward could find a nice little vampire-girl who was willing to settle down with him like the rest of the Cullens

But, then what happens when the Volturi come and check on the deal they made and Bella's not a vampire ?
That would certainly lead to major drama.

theres this guy in my school, Mike is actually his name, and he reminds me of Newton. Minus the blond hair.. he had a crush on my friend for a long time, and he was always hanging around us, and he wouldnt shut up talking to her, and he really annoyed the hell out of her. He used to keep asking her to 'hang out' and such..

I mentioned it to her the other day, now everytime we see him, we laugh.

I have to admit, I really liked Jacob first going off, I found him to be adorable, but once he started to change and he became a wolf, his attitude got bad.. Theres 2 Jacobs, Bella's Jacob who is the nice, sweet and caring one. And the cruel, evil werewolf Jacob who thinks Bella should love him and only him.

^ Yeah, thats definetley true. Edwards as bad as he'll ever be...in the evil sense, I mean, and he's still calm and considerate despite everything.

I never really liked Jacobs though, even from the start so I couldn't appreciate Bellas obsession with him when he didnt want to be her friend anymore (which is really pathetic, I mean, you would'nt just drop someone you cared & were so deeply in love with)
