NEW SCENES:
Prior to Bella’s birthday party at the Cullen’s, there’s a couple of scenes that take place at Forks high school, including one scene where Bella and Edward are watching Romeo and Juliet in English class.
I’ve only glanced through it, but I did notice that they added at least one new scene with Victoria, where she has stolen a car, kidnapped a woman and killed her husband.
Another added scene: After Edward leaves we see a really cool scene of the months/seasons changing, time-lapsed, behind Bella, as she sits in a rocking chair beside her window.
Cool scene: When Edward is telling Bella about the history of the vampires, we focus on a painting that becomes “real.”
Lots of surreal dream sequences. Lots of scenes of werewolves changing. The F/X will really be amped up in this one.
They have solved the problem of Edward not appearing for a large portion of the film by having him actually “appear” when Bella hears his voice. The script says that his image “fades” in and out around Bella whenever she hears his voice, appearing as though he his right next to her or across the room from her. Lot’s of flashbacks to Twilight as well.
Last line of the script: Marry me, Bella.
Overall reaction: Very faithful to the book. Fans shouldn’t be disappointed. Lots of Jacob, Edward will still be absent for a large part of the movie, but will still “appear” when Bella hears his voice.
Also, I can’t remember, but did Bella have a lot of voice-overs in Twilight? She seems to have a lot in the script.
