Ok, I officially like the cover on a bigger scan. Love's expression looks better and more engaging in bigger focus which changes the whole attitude. And it's a refreshing cover choice.

I like what Lorraine wrote in the Editor's Letter. It's pretty accurate of Courtney's character...well partly.

I agree with earlier comments that the issue is very thin (but to be honest most January editions are).

Aye, every year you go into the store expecting to see January issues as thin as a teenage model, but in commercial terms, at the moment, I don't think any magazine can afford to let a month slip by without trying their hardest to add excitement to the purchase, via supplements and so on.

It's a brave magazine that (a) puts Courtney Love on the cover, and (b) sits bare of giveaways on the newsstand this winter. I applaud the former, and bemoan the latter.

i'm relieved to hear that the other's subscribers' issues have also been late.
but i'm getting very impatient and it is a wee bit of a piss take! isn't the point in subscription that you get it before the shops?

Overall I think this is a nice issue, the thickness is thin but January issue's normally are.
Courtney looks great in her pictures.
