UK Vogue December 2017 : Adwoa Aboah by Steven Meisel

I like it. Is it a remake of a vintage British Vogue cover, it looks familiar?

Yes yes yes! I'm in love. Thanks Edward for not disappointing us
After the monotonous and uninspired level reached by the latest British Vogue by Alexandra, this is such a breath of fresh air but also such a beautiful recall to the 70s and 80s. It doesn't feel dated, it's actually timeless I think: if in 20 years we look at this cover, we will still find it gorgeous. Meisel is just magical. And I'm so happy to see that Adwoa delivered, also thanks to that perfect make up (who did it? Pat?)
can't wait to see the rest of the content, especially Jourdan. I hope she will get one cover too soon.
Congrats to Adwoa, she now needs only Vogue Paris to complete the big 4.

I truly don't see what's so great about this image. Bad model, awful make-up and awful layout. The image itself looks like a Vogue Mexico beauty supplement and that type is so amateur while trying hard to look vintage...hoping that the content is more challenging.

I just realized that this is the first time Meisel has worked for UK Vogue since that, great, 1993 ed with Stella.etc!! So over two decades, and he is back, unless i missed some of his work along the way, it happens!

BY STEVEN MEISEL. Those are the only words I need to see on that cover.

W-O-W !! Now THIS is a makeover! This cover is giving me life! Looking forward to the contents.

Vreeland vibes!! I think the forum crowd and people who are really into fashion will love it, the test is whether it will speak to the public at large. What an iconic start, he knows what he's doing.

I screamed! A new era for UK Vogue. Love this cover even though I don't care about Adwoa.

a winning debut for Edward enninful! absolutely stunning!!

nice image, but my initial thought was that it was another photo from her marc jacob's beauty campaign... which is funny because she's also wearing marc

Thought the same thing!

Nice to see Pat got to do something fun on her.

Beautiful makeup!

It's a beautiful image..

Once all the greats now die off and the new generation takes over, that's what you'll begin to see. They're already doing it, just not in as-big publications or are still coming up because they're overshadowed by the star-power of the current best photographers.

Yeaaaaah my bet was on Adwoa since the very beginning and I'm so glad to see her. Wasn't expecting this mood for the first cover though, so it surprised me but such in a good way. I was expecting something really "in your face" and it's so delicate, soft but at the same time he couldn't have made it more clear that a new era of british Vogue has begun. Simple and on point. I love it.

Ha! I had a feeling Adwoa would get the first cover, and had a feeling he would mirror his Vogue after Franca's VI. Glad he delivered.

It's a great debut. The image is bold, very fashion, but still commercial. It's what I wanted/expected. Excited for what's inside.

Stunning! She looks gorgeous. Everything is perfect as regards to the photo. However, the layout leaves me cold. And Millie Bobby Brown’s name emphasized over others? Really?

You know what I love the most? Is that it feels like I’m looking at a NEW EDITION of Vogue. It’s a complete turn around. You don’t see any trace of Alexandra’s legacy. None. Bravo.

Welcome back, Steven Meisel.

Too much like the Marc Jacobs campaign.

Not happy her freckles have been covered with make up.

Great Britain. But wearing American Marc Jacobs.

No cover lines. You cant have a list of famous people every month.

It will be interesting what happens in the next few issues.

It is beautiful.

i hope vogue uk doesn't turn into vogue italia as steven meisel will be a big part of enninful's team.

the cover screams vogue italia aesthetic.

I love the image but I hate the layout. I´m glad Meisel is back on a major Vogue. Can´t wait to read a review

"You can't have a list of famous people every month." Last I checked this said list is the cornerstone of modern day name-dropping culture especially in print media

A truly celebratory cover worthy of holiday festivities. Immediately brought to mind the colorful covers of early 70s British VOGUE starring Donna Mitchell and Ingmari Lamy.

I appreciate the simple yet well thought out composition with minimal white studio backdrop. The straight-forward cover and type layout let's the image do the talking.

As much as I loathe their "journalism" here's the Guardian's take on Enninful's multi-racial cover model choice(s).

Can't wait to pick this one up at Bulldog News!
