UK Vogue March 2024 by Steven Meisel

I don't hate it. The way Oprah is centered in the middle and everyone else like halo around her kind looks like the issue somehow mostly about her.

Poor Kate. My goodness they did a number on her! Who did she piss off on the post production team?

Something tells me Meisel wasn’t even on set…

The only thing that’s impressive is that everyone wasn’t pasted together in a collage in post production. The cover story is absolutely boring.

This is all too over whelming but so lacking at the same time. The cover stars are only connected because of that, being on the cover of his Vogue. But seeing them all together you fully realise how strange it is to see them in the one image. Even the styling and poses for each one is all over the place. There’s no synergy to it all.

The edit I like the idea of, and I enjoy Ned Rogers’ work. I just wish they took this idea and ran it with different looks, with shots in colour. Giving each subject 2-3 looks and really give us a “behind the scenes” fashion bonanza that the cover line suggests.

Edward won’t be missed, by me and by many. He tried, he got some things right but in the end his time at UK Vogue has just been a confusing muddle of trying to appease diversity fanatics and his own ego. Now go enjoy your Jamba Juice, Edward. You deserve it…

kate and Meisel hate each other, so funny lol... gisele is missing, i guess why...

What is Lila Moss doing there? Jameela Jamil at least is annoying and loud, but her? Kate is pushing really hard to make her relevant.

Naomi looks beautiful on the cover and the video. Way better than her British ELLE cover.

When will these editors learn that group shots are not a good idea, at all. I mean its a major feat getting some of the most powerful women in the world on one set but the results are incredibly boring. He missed a chance to actually leave us with a truly legendary cover featuring the legend that never got her due, Janet Jackson. Going by this cover and the 'editorial' we should be glad that he's leaving though I wouldn't get too excited about his replacement.

seeing his history of cover subjects together verifies that each person is a reflection of edward's true nuttiness

there are some legit nut jobs on the cover and they're legendary to him? because he gave them a cover? that's it?

not even meisel's name, not work, his brand, could salvage this mimicry of his previous covers.

goodbye, where's the broom & dustpan, dyson vacuum, swifter cleaner?

i hope chioma is more exciting than samira, that's all.
word!

I'm just relieved to see Steven Meisel's name attached to this, because above all else, it feels like an event whenever Meisel shoots the cover of British Vogue. For me, Meisel has been the whole saving grace of Edward Enninful's tenure. A pretty impressive feat to have pulled off such a cover shoot, and I'm a fan of the cover overall. Very celebratory and monumental!

I will always be a huge Meisel fan, but this is god awful. Why bother getting him to shoot this photo other than to flex when the outcome is so mediocre. The casting is beyond banal and whilst I've found Meisel's bias or disdain for certain models/celebrities petty at times, this makes me realise I didn't want to see the likes of Cara shot by him again...

I've tried to defend some of Edward's good "initiatives" over the past six years, e.g. cleaning out the stench of Caucasian toff from Alex's mediocre reign but the last couple of years in particular have given absolutely nothing, as you all say. Glad this era is finally over.
Bless him and his good initiatives---- It's a shame that the racist stench of tfs can't be cleaned up as well.
