Uma Thurman covers THE EDIT February 2014
The 43-years-old actress Uma Thurman is star of the last issue of Net-a-Porter’s online magazine, The Edit. Dressed in glamorous by pieces from Emilio Pucci, Lanvin, Maison Martin Margiela , Roberto Cavalli and Dolce & Gabbana the actress posed for the lenses of Italian photographer Giampaolo Sgura.
Thurman opens up in an interview for the magazine about her last movie Lars Von Trier’s Nyphomaniac , having children as a young woman and her age.
On Lars Von Trier’s Nyphomaniac : “There is no greater quality in a director than precision,” she says. “When you work with great people, half the battle is meeting them. Everyone is scared of everyone else.”
“I’ve never had such a big step back. So it will all be new for me. It will feel as if it’s the first time.”
On having children : “When you first have a child in the early side of your child-bearing years – which for a New Yorker means there’s still a 2 in front of your age, as opposed to a 3 or a 4 or a 5 – you’re changing yourself so much as a person, you’re so volatile. You think you’re grown up. But you’re such a child yourself.”
On being 40 : “I was so surprised at how many things seemed new again… You’re a different person.”
