Secret of women's sex-cess
Poll: Dirty talk, jokes jolt love life

Say goodbye to desperate housewives.
These days women are getting as much satisfaction as men, and those in long-term relationships have even more sizzling sex lives, the new ELLE magazine/MSNBC.com sex survey found.
"Because I'm older now and not embarrassed to talk about sex, try new things, or ask for what I want, these have been the hottest two years of my life," a 37-year-old woman with a live-in boyfriend told survey takers.
And because women are more likely than men (80% as opposed to 70%) to spell out what they want in the sack, the result is that 67% almost always have orgasms, the survey found.
"Many women are enjoying sex much more than they used to," Janet Lever, a California State University sociology professor, says in the upcoming June issue of ELLE magazine. "They've learned a lot about their bodies and what gives them sexual pleasure."
One of the more surprising findings is just how much a little laughter adds to the lovemaking.
Turning off the TV, talking dirty, and an "I love you" or two are turn-ons.
But mix in some mirth and suddenly cavorting couples become nearly 60-minute men and women, the survey found.
That said, the way women feel about their bodies is no laughing matter. One in four said if they're not happy with what they see in the mirror, they're not happy in bed.
By contrast, only one in 20 men fretted about not feeling attractive.
Couples that spice things up with massages, lingerie and other delights have better sex lives.
Nearly 78,000 people - half women, half men - took part in the survey. More than half were married and college-educated. Almost all were straight.

80% of women, compared to 70% of men, say they are comfortable asking for what they want in bed.
33% are calling, e-mailing and text- or instant-messaging their partners to tease about something sexual they'll do for him or her.
67% of women say they always or almost always climax during sex. That said, men overestimate the reliability of their partners' orgasms – 73% say their partner always or usually climaxes.

Saying "I love you" and adding sexy talk to your lovemaking equals 43 minutes of sex – 13 minutes more than when the lights are out but the TV is on. ... and make me laugh
It seems that joking in bed adds 10 minutes to a lovemaking session.
