US Vogue April 2008 : Gisele Bündchen & LeBron James by Annie Leibovitz

People complain no matter what magazine it is. Its always...."Boring", " Ugh Celebrity", "Ugh Overrated model", "Should have used this model instead of her", "He is getting boring", "worst cover", "the colors look ugly", "OMG I hate this model". Month after month, although there are people on TFS who no matter what alway find something positive to say.

I think that the cover in a bigger size will be better, I can see Gisele smiling looking great and actually looking to the camera! But it's not what I expected :(

Ugly and Afful cover i think is one of the best bad cover of the year

The worst of it is that LeBron is actually good looking, but look how does he look in the cover. Awful.
And I agree about the waste of the dress, it's lovely, but Gisele's smile is sooo fake and the pose is off.
I soo hate this cover.

Gisele is not the Cover Queen any more

I wasn't suggesting that

Anywho...the dress might not be awesome, but it is a nice dress. It would have been a waste if it were Baby Phat (well...) I wouldn't want my brand assiciated with this cover, that's how bad I think it is. And I am normally not an avid cover hater at all...

Can anyone explain what is so special about the dress?I see a simple tube dress in a greenish/tealish color. And I see nothing else.....U guys act like its a work of art/ couture worthy dress. It is none of that.
i couldn't agree more, i just don't get a hype about Calvin Klein dresses i even wouldn't wear them, it looks super simple in not a good way, smth like i sew for barbies when i was a kid

I don't mind hearing people critique a cover if they say why they don't like it, or how they'd have done it differently. That's interesting to read, it adds to my own view.

The one thing I do not like is the pose - Gisele looks like she's trying to escape. It looks like it was shot mid-move. Perhaps the aim was to capture a pose that doesn't look too posed. Yet it looks more awkward than 'action'.

Would better poses have been... if she was draped over his shoulders (making use of the way sportsmen and models are humans of similar height) or perhaps with her back to him in a wisecracking pose, as he pulls his crazy face.

maybe there wouldn't be complaining if the cover was actually good...:innocent:
i mean, honestly, do you think it's a good cover?

i like the two people on the cover, i like what gisele is wearing...
i do not like the pose...i also don't like that he's screaming...

Is black cover subjects screaming going to be the new trend with Vogue along with Trentini jumping? I can't help but draw parallels to Jennifer Hudson's cover which was another instance of a person made to look considerably less attractive than they really are. Doesn't that run counter to what a fashion magazine is supposed to present?

I actually think the cover is decent, much more eye catching than previous US Vogues.
