US Vogue February 2012 : Taylor Swift by Mario Testino

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Why on earth is SHE appealing to people whatsoever, to Anna Wintour or the entire fashion industy? Last year US Vogue did wonders with everything but once in a while they do miss it big time, just like now with that girl on the cover! Taylor is NOT Vogue material!!! She's Seventeen magazine or Elle but not a high fashion interesting elegant creature!

Who is Vogue material?? I can understand people not liking her, but this girl is one of the highest selling artists and last year she was named Billboard's magazine's Woman of the Year. Plus it doesn't get more American than Taylor Swift. Honestly, I'd rather see her on the cover, who at least has something relevant to say than some overhyped actress like Rooney Mara. Taylor has credentials to her name, not like some other actresses who cruise by on Anna's good graces.

The cover certainly exceeded my expectations (not that they were high to begin with). Eventhough I don't care for Taylor, she looks fresh and beautiful here and that particular shade of blue fot the Vogue logo compliments the cover to perfection. Excited for the editorials as always.

I don't care for Taylor's music at all but have to concede she was probably overdue for a Vogue cover and this looks nice. I'm glad they got her out of those curls and red lipstick for a change.

i love this girl! she's young and fresh and sweet. i think the angle/expression could be better, but it reminds me of mid 90s covers. like it alot, don't love it

She totally looks like a model. Also cover looks like it's from maybe 60s. And doesn't look like American Vogue. WHICH IS GREAT!

not bad at all. I really like the fact that Anna is trying something new for her magazine lately.

It's very old school but it's sort of refreshing. It's nice to see new faces for the magazine (especially if you see SJP on her 6th cover). Ironically, I kinda thought Taylor looked a little bit like Karlie (only blonder).

It's so annoying when people act as if Anna Wintour is God's grace to the world along with her magazine and the cover subjects. Having Taylor Swift on the cover for one month is not the end to the fashion world. Taylor is extremely sought after and has become very fashionable as of late. Besides, in a time when the magazine industry is slumping, what's so bad about putting someone on the cover because they can sell a little more than someone else?

STILL waiting for a tilda swinton vogue us cover, she's never had one has she?

Why is she on the cover of Vogue?! Next they'll be putting Justin Beiber on the cover like V. I have no idea what Anna is thinking. I guess the cover looks OK though.

Tilda's not really a "Vogue" girl IMO. She's better suited to magazines like W.

Whaever, I'd rather see someone like Taylor on the cover than someone known for sleeping with Donald Trump.

lol just the risk to see the prestige of the magazine, acquired along those 120 years, diminished because of weird cover subjects that don't make sense

loool which is so what happened  it's sad but yeah the image is alright, I just assume that other people could fit better than this girl

Nice cover and the blue masthead plus Taylor makes it looks fresh!

I can't believe Anna finalized putting her on the cover, especially after it has been proven that Taylor does not sell magazines too well.

The 21-year-old Pennsylvania native has the dubious distinction of being on the cover of Elle magazine’s worst selling issue of the year, with 60,000 fewer copies sold than a typical issue, according to a report by WWD with research from the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

Swift’s cover shot also failed to move many copies of Glamour or Marie Claire, as her covers were those magazines' second and third worst selling issues of 2010, respectively.
