US Vogue November 2009 : Marion, Penelope, Nicole and Kate by Annie Leibovitz

Why Penelope? Actually quite intersting as Nicole is on the cover too. Great Marion is in there...

So photoshopped, what a shame. It could have been a fantastic cover with those ladies. Disappointing.

Great- that this is a group cover, something US Vogue rarely do (except when they put models on their cover).
-that this is not a studio shot, rather, they shot it on location of the set, the background is beautiful and a refreshing take than most of the solo covers that they usually did.
-that they made the effort to put all four actresses together rather than just choosing one ( I bet they had a difficult time just choosing one, so they decided to feature all four!- just my opinion^_^)
- the dresses are great- I love the color tones!!

Bad-like most of you, I hate the banner on top of the word VOGUE (btw, MON did a good job cropping the banner- it looks much better)
- actresses are supposed to act, when they're on the cover of VOGUE, the least they can do is act happy, cheerful. All I can see is just them staring at the photographer expressionless ( with exception of Marion). Saying this, I have seen the Sept Issue and I do feel guilty for blaming them, they might have given other better shots just to be banned by Anna Wintour- so for this, I think Anna takes the full responsibility...
-photoshop- I don't have to explain further.

^^ Thanks! I have to agree with you!

The background is beautiful, but they look too photoshoped & Marion looks the best.

^ MON did you hotlink the images? If so they won't work - and also hotlinking is not allowed within TFS.

I uploaded them to imageshack. Thumbs below:

Looking at it in HQ it looks like Marion's dress has been photoshopped on - judging mainly by the area around her neckline.
You can see their feet are in the water, so i'd say they probably merged a few different shots together from that one shoot. Marion was probably wearing the original dress in this shot, yet they changed it in post ed?
Again i'm kind of over the whole photoshop thing. It doesn't bother me at all.
All covers are photoshopped.

The main thing is I like the concept and the composition of the shot. For me the pros of this cover far outweigh the cons.

OMG for two reasons! First is i'm sorry for the wrong link and hotlinking! My bad! Second is that Birdyandme you're right when you zoom in Marion you'll see that there's someting wrong with the neck. Looks like it was attached.

I find it funny how they are all walking as if wearing heels. Sort of ruins the 'natural' vibe the cover was going for.

This is a photoshop nightmare. Marion's dress looks photo digitally added onto her body.
Kate's eyes look terribly wierd and Fergie looks like Goldie Hawn in Death Becomes Her.

Kate is like the token American. She doesn't have the credibility of the other three, and she certainly does not have the beauty - it's plain to see in the HQ cover pic.

The word Golem comes to mind :yuk:

Penelope looks like a ventriloquist's dummy, with the deep creases on either side of her mouth. All she needs is an arm up her back.

And Nicole does have 5:00 shadow!

This is a cover people will be talking about, good or bad. But will it make people want to buy the magazine?

Nicole looks horrible as usual, but the styling and hair are beyond ghastly for her... THAT dress with THAT hair, on THAT face... was really a bad choice.

Seeing the cover in HQ it doesn't look that awful. But it's still bad. Especially the way Kate Hudson was copy pasted onto the right side.

Talking about Kate, she has very weird hands in the other group pic, her nails too small for hewr fingers somehow:
