US Vogue October 2022 : Jennifer Lawrence by Tina Barney

Excited to see Nadine’s ed, though I imagine it’s shared content lol

Not sure why Wintour felt the need to include Zelensky’s piece with this issue, when we all read the article online… for free… two months ago. The piece didn’t exactly receive a standing ovation when it was first released either but I guess it boosts the page numbers up, for what sounds like a snoozefest of an issue.

Thank you for the review @axiomatic, nevertheless! :flower:

Having just flipped through the issue, the Zelensky photos are the best in the issue, so I'm glad they were printed!

None of the eds are offensively bad by today's standards (J-Law's looks better in print than it did online) but nothing is exceptional either. Lila's ed is classic American Vogue, just needed a better model. Nadine's ed is alright, too.

NOWSTALGIA (Different layout from UK Vogue; there is no huge blank space and retro film frame, which I find much more appealing!)

Of course, don't be fooled for a second that the main star of this issue is Jennifer Lawrence or anything which has to do with a fashion! The main stars are Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska, whose story on whole 10 pages inserted - EXTREMELY blatantly and "in your face" type of thing! - right between the editorials "Nowstalgia" and "Playing Favorites".

Edward Enninful, however, turned out to be mach smarter and more considerate because he pushed it (4 pages, "only") to the very end of the issue, right before the stores for the merchandise featured in the editorials. Very conscientious and compassionate of him, since, after all, Europe (and *not* effing America!) is the ONE which will starve and freeze in the coming winter...

Devyn Garcia's second photo should have been on the cover over JLaw's.

144 pages is not that bad in an American magazine, but I don't think it's worth collecting if you're particular about how
your collection would look like, given that
Vogue USA's way of placing its masthead
on the spines (which depends on the pages of the magazine issues) is a little bit messy.
