There is no credits as to who shot the cover but both the cover and accompanying cover feature on V Magazine's website scream Mario Testino.

Yep, I'm prepared to bet that this was shot by Testino! Is this the new tactic? Run their work, but don't credit them? It can't work for too long.

Because I loathe the cover I hoped maybe the edit would deliver something interesting. No such luck. It's your typical Mariah Carey cheesefest. In-your-face bling, excess photoshop, corny smiling. Basically what Paper did with her a few months ago. Jennifer Lopez don't need to lose any sleep!

Are they seriously doing this now? Hiring that creep, but not adding his name anywhere? I mean wow, Fashion Industry has always been a messed up place, but this is really something!! Shame on them!

So they've credited everyone on the website (even the photography assistants) except for Testino. Seeing as the allegations came out in January they had ample time to reshoot, but I guess thy don't have the budget for it?

It is by Testino, the manicurist posted images and credited him as the photographer. It's quite funny with these allegations and his last portfolios that he had done. You can notice to party is over, the glamour and flashiness is gone, everyone needs to return back to their normal lives. The moments he captured aren't ones he just stumbled upon but rather forced now. His usage of excess is seen as amateur now and making people's wrinkles disappear with a flash and lots of lights is just terrible now. For V it will hopefully be a step in the right direction because they have relied on Testino too much.

Why do her teeth look so long?! The cover is a little frightening and the actual editorial isn't worth even looking at. Bet Testino will have demanded a hefty check for this too..

What a weird thing to do. Hiding his name won't stop people from knowing? I presume he has to be given credit somewhere in the magazine despite everything, they can't just not credit him surely? There was ample time to reshoot but who knows, Mariah is such a demanding subject she may have refused to be shot by anyone else.

It's all a bit of a missed opportunity. Mariah, whilst being so comical now, is someone who isn't photographed much for magazines and is never really on covers. They could have done something much better than this. Her facial expression is the same everywhere, but then by all accounts she's always been very, very particular about the way she is shot.

They probably didn't have the budget for a reshoot. And given Mariah's demanding and particular nature, I doubt she would have been okay with shooting this mess all over again.

And I assume that they likely paid Testino for this? If so, would they be legally obligated to credit him? I'm not sure if the big celeb photographers get paid for editorials and covers like this with high profile subjects.

Agreed. I would've shelved this if it was up to me and maybe just give it to a top model and slightly cheaper photographer. He blew his load too soon by pairing Grace with Sam Smith. Grace could've gotten a cover on her own.
But of course Gan don't want to incur the wrath of the butterfly queen, so this is where we are at.

It will be interesting to see how V will move forward without Testino......

The issue with this shoot, and I am definitely a lamb- is that it is seemingly a night shoot. As a stickler for good lighting, why would Mariah even agree to doing this? The lighting and retouching are not done well. These photos age her. Love Mariah, not a fan of these images. Testino usually falls flat for me. As is the case for this moment.

I saw the magazine today in shops and just save your time and don't try to search for it. There's three Testino spreads inside and yes he's credited in his spreads. There's the Mariah and a fashion special with Duckie and another black girl in colored seamless along with a feature within the same vein of the fashion special. All the Testino spreads are done by Formichetti. The highlight of the issue is a Jackie Nickerson editorial, quite gorgeous crops of garments from mainly new designers I recall and hidden credits I don't remember. Then there's Hannah Ferguson and Jules Horn by Nathaniel Goldberg and David Bradshaw outside in a backyard with a pool. Jules is the boy toy always in the water or getting out and Hannah watching from a chair or near the pool, quite repetitive after the fourth image. After that there's a part two of what V did for the last issue of girls with one page shots in parts of the world. There's also a female version of the VMAN editorial by Cameron McNee and it's just as bad. Ugly collages from a bad tumblr, and some really boring feature on some woman by Suman Jack. What else do I need to say, don't buy it.
