Vanity Fair July 2014 : Shailene Woodley by Miguel Reveriego

This looks like something Reveriego would shoot for the Vanities section of the magazine. I often love the images he produces for that (especially Margot Robbie's), but something is off here. This particular image just doesn't scream cover shot to me, more like something fell through and this was the swift replacement.

I'm just not feeling the presence of a Hollywood superstar in the making. She's more like someone's annoying older sister who's all dressed up for a part that, on paper, called for a glamorous person, but instead they got Shailene.

Looks like it's from their cheapie Vanities section. Uninspired like their fluffy, glowy work with Annie Leibovitz... Ellen Von Unwerth did a fresh cover and shoot of Jennifer Lawrence, why not have her back?

Shailene is an airhead, so the article should be entertaining.

That's too bad they over styled and photoshopped her cover. She has such a pretty face and a nice simple shot would have been ideal.

I don't get this hair style on her at all. I also agree with Vogue28, it feels like it somewhat of a rushed job and this image ended up on the cover when something else fell through. Reveriego doesn't usually shoot VF covers, does he?

Shailene looks best when shot in a more natural way that suits her personality. I don't know why they keep trying to glam her up with slick hair and red lips.

She's not an airhead. I find her to be one of the most intellectually stimulating.., Ok she's an airhead, but I do find her intellectually stimulating in the sense that she makes me feel infinitely smarter.

I like the type font, graphic designers tryed to salve the photo.

The Jeff Koons article would be worth the read. Also, I can predict who's in the 23 stars: Dane DeHaan, Ansel Elgort, Michael B Jordan (?), Dylan Penn, someone from Game of Thrones, and the rest all came from a celebrity's sperm or egg.

No, none of them (excluding the last part — Smiths and Bono's daughter Eve Hewson are here, of course). Calling Dane and Michael B. Jordan 'Young Hollywood' would be dated even for Vanity Fair
Dylan O’Brien, Lily James, Will Poulter and Bates Motel's Olivia Cooke are among those BYTs.

Model/Celebrity: Shailene Woodley

Vanity Fair US 07/2014 Digital Edition

Douglas looks so beautiful in this shot, although I wouldn't exactly call him 'new wave'.

Maybe I'm just getting old but young Hollywood looks really really young to me.

Almost everyone in this shoot looks 12...

Happy for Shailene though.

Shailene is probably the only one of these people who will still be around 10 years from now.

Zoe Kravitz has been "up-and-coming" for 5 years now it seems.

too much photoshop but i still like it. she reminds me of those actresses from the 40s/50s who had fuller faces and not the sharp chiselled cheekbones that are common on the covers nowadays

Aside from The Smiths, I have no clue who these children are. I feel so lost :(

Someone needs to get Miguel Reveriego away from Vanity Fair. Yikes. That editorial looks anything but fresh and young. :ermm:
