I don't mind taking the nostalgia train and seeing a face from the good old times, but this looks just bad and doesn't suit her.
Kinda resembles Sharon Stone here, the girl wears one cardigan/bra and suddenly she is a Style Icon, hahah! I will say that I don't mind this cover, the art direction is an eye sore, but somehow it doesn't offend me, they had way worse this year, the bar is low!
I simply don’t get how she manages to establish even a semblance of longevity and relevance. Back when she was ubiquitous in the late 90s-early 00s, despite being in some interesting films (Wonder Boys, Go, Pieces of April—this was somewhat an exception but Patricia Clarkson outshines her here), she was hardly the significant one in them. Post-Tom Cruise, she became one of those actresses who managed to get by for the sake of 90s nostalgia, and yet magazines would still feature her as if she was an icon of something. Anyway with regards to the cover, I only like the pants she wore there.
ahahah I new I was going to have a good laugh with your comments the moment I saw that cover having her on the cover is extremely random. what is she promoting another B type movie? is she knitting from home? skincare line? Vagina scented candles? these women are the unstoppable. that said, she actually looks good but the layout is such an eyesore! why the multicolor Vogue logo? WHY? that alone destroyed the cover. maybe in print it will look better. I guess they tried to be edgy...
I don't mind the cover image it's quite unusual though the masthead would have been black with a different font
