Somehow Irina Shayk (or M&M and L&I) made me believe that she's actually a very capable model who could flicker between HF & commercial photography. They continuously worked her best angles, and she delivered. But with this edit the truth is laid bare - without resorting to pouts, open mouthed sensuality and nudity, there's really nothing here. Yes, Testino's laziness is apparent here, but so is her awkward poses. And the cover pose actually looks nearly identical to her Spanish Vogue cover shot by Paola Kudacki.
The rest of the eits are actually pretty good for an Ausgust issue. Nice to see Alisa again, Hana's face is perfect for beauty, and Yeste's story looks great. I will say that Lorena Maraschi was miscast for the Dior story - she's way too frail for those dresses.
