I'm not trying to offend, but does this guy have any notable activities or achievements? I've been seeing him around quite a lot lately

The band he is in Maneskin won Eurovision and that pushed their career, They have sold millions of records worldwide, they were Grammy nominated, they had a couple of hits on the charts, and also were part of the Elvis movie soundtrack, and now as He as a solo artist is getting a lot of press and attention on America and UK, and i would think this cover is something to push him to be a big star level...

I just checked and this is the second time he has appeared on Vogue Italia. Perhaps it's because I haven't researched much, and not everything is a coincidence

And he is dating Dove Cameron!!!

Did they want to do a BDSM theme but suddenly change minds because the cover has potential but the editorial just falls flat?

I love that he's on the cover but I was expecting more from Klein, I feel like Damiano would have been game for something riskier than this.

And for people who don't know him, keep in mind that this is Vogue Italia after all, and the band is famous in Europe. I've been following them for around 6 years and they've been featured in other Italian mags.

Why is there a solo man wearing a harness on the cover of Vogue?

The cover is gourgeous and makes me wish there were L'Uomo as well. Klein doing Italian Vogue again feels so right, and I'm surprised he didn't make so many covers after 2016. Him and Meisel left the boat during Farnetti's reign.

It makes me think VI would put a guy on the covers of January and July, while most of the editions are getting rid of those months. It's just a thought. Men's fashion in Italy is a huge business and since the killing of L'Uomo lost its way to sell the collections on print. This looks better than most (90%) covers of Will Welch's global GQ. I like this a lot, and that happens when a legendary photographer it's behind it. Klein it's a wise move to portray men's clothes. It's nice after the poorly made set of covers VI made for this month.

Looking forward to Conde Nast's usual editorial strategy of putting a man on the cover but the rest of the content will be entirely directed towards women.

If they wanted to do the occasional men's issue, they could still follow their approach of using reprinted content, by lifting it from other editions of men's magazines in their worldwide list.

I'd prefer that than their policy of producing this and still expecting me to be interested in the rest of the issue. Make it make sense, from the first page to the last.

Not that the rest of the magazine, in digital or print form, is any sort of priority.

I agree with you. I like more to see Vogue selling women's wear the most. I like to see a handsome guy (with a model or alone) on the cover, but Vogue shouldn't be the place if there's complementary titles like GQ or Esquire. But when CN killed L'Uomo and Vogue Hommes, made GQ global and the fashion that offers Will Welch it's horrible, makes sense Vogue to be the only place to sell clothes in the same way L'Uomo used to. That weird "no makes sense" feeling with the rest of the contents also happens to GQ. Beyoncé or Shakira (to name a few of the last covers I bought) wearing designer clothes on the cover and the main story of a fashion magazine for men looks out of place.

I like the cover because Damiano looks attractive and the color scheme is striking.
