Vogue Italia November 2015 : Gigi Hadid by Steven Meisel

Must admit that I'm not jumping for joy over Gigi's cover story but it sure is a THOUSAND times better than ANYTHING Mert & Marcus (or any other photographer for that matter) have given us for Vogue Italia. I would happily take something of this nature over anything Italian Vogue have produced in recent months - so I'll take it!

It's sad we don't get to see more of those really cool videos of the editorial.

It really is a shame. So often those videos would enhance the editorial in interesting and unexpected ways, as well as being beautiful standalone pieces of art.

Some of Gigi's shots from the main edit are truly glam...I'm loving the one with the snake bracelet swirling up her finger towards her mouth.

However there are a lot of forgettable images as well and TBH Carlyne look like she cooked up the styling in about 5 minutes. Beanie babies? Hmmm...

Rest of the issue is blah as usual. If I have to see Sam Rollinson in another faux throwback/60s black and white tragi-story set in East London...

I just think it would have been preferable if Gigi did not have the same sad expression in all of the photos but one.

super boring issue, the Gigi ed is soo boring and fake

CARLYNE!!! What a mess...
She is spending too much time with Jeremy Scott. Where is the fashion?

YES to Meisel + MAS
YES to Meisel + EE
NO to Meisel + CCD

^^^ Styling aside, this is their strongest issue in quite some time. Whenever M&M takes over this publication, my fashion spirit dies a little, so maybe it’s just a natural reaction to be more excited than I should be given the contents, but the variety of going from a Meisel ‘60s-funny girl Gigi to a elegantly-moody Lindbergh shot Kate Winslet— and everything else in between, without having to suffer M&M, is solid enough for me.

Gigi is such a pretty woman— and so joyful, unlike those terrible Jenners with their vacant and such forgettable faces, that if we have to suffer the InstaModels, at least Gigi shines far brighter than any of them ever could.

Now if only they could hire a decent graphic designer...

What a cringe worthy issue. Besides Lindbergh amazing (as always) work and Comte (delivers) everything is so photoshopped, so plastic, so bad. When did photographers start to use photoshop so loosely and amateurish?

this is bad. Gigi's ed is like the outtakes of a typical American Vogue shoot. there's no energy in any of the eds at all. VI has lost all sense of direction.

My favorites are Emma and Sam's editorials. It's just working. Gigi's work is not appealing to me. I am not a fan of the concept, but it could have been better with another girl.

For me, it's the best fashion shoot I've ever seen her do, it's as if everything came together to create a mood that really works for her, or the 'character' she's playing in the shoot.

There are so many shots in this video that could have made a very captivating cover... Yet they went with lolipop stuff...
