Vogue Nippon February 2009 : Freja Beha Erichsen by Inez & Vinoodh

I just can't bring myself to buy Vogue Nippon anymore. Even Vogue US gets that you don't but a giant G over the face of your cover star. There are about ten thousand ways to avoid this and when a magazine purposefully chooses something that makes their publication aesthetically unpleasant you have to wonder at the mindset behind such choices. I mean honestly, why even bother hiring Inez and Vinoodh or Freja or Daria or any of the other top models when you're just going to cover their work with a fugly bit of text? Might as well just save the cash and take some cheap polaroids in front of the Fendi store.

HATE THE TEXT. But Freja looks lovely. And I'm in love with that Fendi (?) bag.

FREJA! She looks lovely, it's just too bad you can barely see her face!

aaargh not liking the cover. would have been better if they put the chracters behind freja's face.

phh, all the text is the main reason, i never buy vogue nippon.

and why is it so important to write something on a cover anyway?

This is such a lovely, soft shot of Freja! She looks so beautiful, but the text is just so distracting.

Freja looks beautiful (no androgynous cover - I can´t believe it!!!).

Not so sure about the giant black bag.

Hate the letters over her face!

Vogue Nippon is so much more than just a cover with stupid gimmick. The contents are always very good, so eventhough the covers are not the best around I will still buy this.

the bag kind of...ruins it for me
apart from that i like it! she looks so different, is great! :)

Another good cover ruined by the text on the face of the model, they are so ridicilous, dont get how anyone can think its acceptable to do that.

And isnt it refreshing to see the cover with a bag on it?Ya its blatant, but its so seldom done i like it, any idea what bag it is?

I agree completely about doubting the magazine's content and ability
when they obviously can do something with the 'G' and when it's so strikingly
annoying at times, it makes you wonder. After all, it carries the Vogue name.

But Vogue Nippon does make it up with good content inside, so i'm fine with it
as long as the quality of the content inside doesn't diminish but sometimes
it gets so annoying that you can't help to complain about the G cause it really
destroys a great photograph.

I feel it's time for the Vogue Nippon team to do something about it, I mean
how can they not realise about it?

The cover layout needs an evolution.

I am not gonna comment on Freja's appearance on the cover of this mag, but I will say that they are doing my head in:angry::angry: with the absolutely ridiculous fonts that I am finding it hard to say anything more until they just leave it out.

Why are people getting so emotional and psycho-analytic about the Vogue Nippon covers?! :innocent:

Besides, I find this cover pretty ugly. Freja looks bad with that Marilyn-Monroe hair do. It looks like a cheap wig.

I would get angry over the text if I could get past the hideous hair and styling of Freja.
