Vogue Nippon February 2009 : Freja Beha Erichsen by Inez & Vinoodh

I understand all your pain. Every single month, I hyperventilate at seeing Gs, Os, Us covering model's faces it's to a point where I don't care about the cover or the model anymore. Can somebody just tell them it's fugly. Please. Thanks.

I generally don't like Freja but she is looking good. Is she wearing Fendi?

now the letters really ruins the picture
Yeah wtf is that all about??? Why even have a picture on the cover if you're going to entirely cover it with text?

Anyway, from what I can see Freja looks AMAZING
Love her as a blonde <3 :flower:

i second Mikel's comment.
while the letters may annoy and distract us, you would think after 13 months of this people would be over it by now..:ermm:

I totally agree about this Trend of putting letters over the model's faces, it is getting ridiculous and ruins a meant to be good cover.Anyway I love Freja's blonde hair she really looks good

one thing i didn't mention: i would have liked to see a little bit more softness and femininity in her face. still love the cover, though. :)

Another good cover ruined by the text on the face of the model, they are so ridicilous, dont get how anyone can think its acceptable to do that.

And isnt it refreshing to see the cover with a bag on it?Ya its blatant, but its so seldom done i like it, any idea what bag it is?

The bag is Fendi SS09 ^_^

the fonts looks ridiculous and freja looks so weird and weird pose too. thx to the max of vogue nippon team.

Freja looks gorgeous and it's great to see her styled feminine.
Needless to say that the font G on her face is ridiculous, though.

one thing..... couldnt they have just brought her lower? my design classes always taught us that white space is ALWAYS GOOD!

i second Mikel's comment.

Generally, I am and can laugh over it when it was the Zimmerman covers, for instance, since at least the black text fit it with the colour scheme. In this case, however, it completely clashes with the "nude" palette and really ruins the photograph's softer, muted feel. Finally after so long, here is Freja with someone jumping off the androgyny train and what do you do? Plaster crap all over her face. (They don't even try to fit her face into the "O" or something...*anything* !*grrrr*) I agree with Luxx...why bother getting top photographers and models on your cover if both are less important than the graphic title text  (or, I guess, the clothes)? Just get a headless mannequin and put some clothes on it.

Here's the thing - I think tFS exists so that we can talk about things like this. For me at least there is no getting over it. Until the day they stop unleashing this fugliness onto the world I'm going to point out that they're unleashing fugliness. Just like how I'd point out that Vogue US's covers are visually unappealing book reports pasteded on the kinds of poorly airbrushed glamor shots one finds frequently in Sears Portrait Studio. Is my complaining going to change anything? Probably not.

::cough::At least not until my eventual world domination with Faith Akiyama:::cough::

Also I do agree that one shouldn't really judge a book by it's cover. At least not solely. The insides of Vogue Nippon are in generally quite good. It's just that at 20 bucks a pop there are times when I'd just rather spend that cash on something that will be wholly good.

Also a little bird told me that the G over the face covers sell like HOTCAKES so someone out there must love them.

Bahiyya
, I would love to see a mannequin on the cover. I think it could be major.

Well I definitely like the cover  Very lovely to look at, nice pose, soft colours.
I agree about the letter-thing but it doesn't really matter a lot to me.

that's fun ... i'm just coming back from the Vogue Korea Jan. 2009 ...
and that's approx. the same cover ... imo boring ... but the concept is similar : 2 boy-ish model (Agnès and Freja) are turned into Marylin (or Madonna Material Girl) lookalike ......

I don't know what's going on in asia ... but il y a god' dans le placard (an alternative to il y a anguille sous roche and its english brother that i don't know about there's something hidden in the closet ?) ....

OH... G.... !!!!!! Love you, Mr.G

So when it comes out ? and any info about what's inside ?

GET THE G OUT OF FREJA'S FACE!

i love nippon vogue..but...this is too much G in every single cover
get it out of the FACE!
